We have just completed a 7 month Trans-Africa Adventure on our motorcycles and we stayed at Danforth Yachting in Malawi between the 20th and 24th November 2011. This is a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it! We heard about Danforth when we were trying to organise travel through Malawi during the petrol crisis. A friend we met... More

We had the most wonderful stay at Cape Maclear starting off our honeymoon. Danforth is in a beautiful location where you can enjoy total relaxation while benefiting from all of the activities that the lake provides. What really made our stay was the kind and hospitable attitude of Michelle and Howard (I'm afraid that I don't recognise the criticisms that... More

I chose Danforth for 4 nights relaxation at the end of a trip to Malawi where I had spent some time working with an orphanage. I am so pleased I did. Michelle and Howard were excellent hosts and Pippa and Jan looked after me so well, especially when I succumbed to a stomach bug at the end of the trip.... More

I was part of the same group as the reviewer below. Great place in general but the treatment of our party at the end of our stay (having hired out the enitre place for two nights) was frankly bizzare, extremely rude and embarrassing for our Malawi-based guests... Danforth is the nicest looking place in Cape Maclear (and the only place... More

Great place overall really with nice food and friendly staff. Shame about the South African owner (Howard) though. We took over the place for an apres wedding two day lower cost stay with many of the wedding guests after a fabulous time in the costly Robin Pope's Pumalani lodge up the coast.. First he let in two (white) friends to... More

We are french and in july whe travelled 17 days in Malawi. After some days in mountains and in Liwonde reserve, and before to go in north Malawi we stopped 3 nights in Danforth Yachting. It is a fantastic spot with a top service. Michelle and Howard are very kind and it seems that we are not in an hotel... More

In May2011 my wife and I, together with 7 friends spent 4 idyllic days at Danforth Yachting on the shores of Lake Malawi. This must surely be one of the best kept secrets as a holiday destination. It is a piece of paradise with a location to die for, offering white sandy beaches, scenic views of mountains and islands. Waking... More

Perfect place to chill out, but with a wide range of distractions which can be enjoyed in a beautiful setting. In two days we managed two scuba dives, including a night dive, wake-boarding, water skiing and tubing, and all this was interspersed with a good deal of chilling out - being spoilt by the wonderful food (and too much of... Really faultless, if one has to find something to criticise it would be the distance of the drive from the airport to the lodge and back which can hardly be the fault of the Lodge. The management and staff of this establishment are really special people, the atmosphere and surroundings are tranquilic, the amenities plentiful, a truly special experience. More
