Fantastic place!!!! Had the most amazing little hut right by the beach. The room is really well done using natural surroundings (the shower is a large tree) and yet it still is quite luxurious. Located on a really nice part of the beach with lots of trees for shade. Great views and the pool area is great to cool off... More

Try the kamango fish or the chambo here. For about £3 a meal we had some of the best food ever. Alan the manager is very friendly, beach and view are great and value is top. Fat Monkeys' next door is a bit more luxurious, with a higher price and food not as good.

Stayed at Mgoza over the Lake of Stars weekend. We were made to feel very at home by Alan and Felix, and instantly started to relax in the beautiful surroundings. The food is truly excellent with the grilled fresh lake fish with sweet potato chips being one of the best dishes I have had in Malawi. Breakfast pancakes (especially the... More

Mgoza Lodge was recommended by a friend and I was very glad I asked her advice...we spent three nights here and were chuffed to bits with the standard of service, the hospitality and most especially with the lovely rooms and views straight out from the huge bed in our room onto the lush gardens and lake - gorgeous! The garden... More

Really welcoming staff. Very relaxed vibe. Probably the best food in the area. Great value for money, nice rooms. Can't really think of any negatives, other than it can get a bit noisy with the proximity to the street behind, although I know it's an ongoing discussion point between Alan and the bar owners.

Seven of us spent 4 very enjoyable days here. We all very much appreciated the clean and simple rooms with their comfortable beds, functional bathrooms and gorgeous views. The quality of the food and service was also very good enabling all of us to relax. Alan and Felix were both very helpful in answering our questions and assisting us with... More

Four days of bliss at Mgoza Lodge! Alan and his staff were wonderful and they made sure our needs were fully met. I am an island girl at heart and I truly experienced the Aloha spirit. The rooms were spacious, clean and all faced the lovely garden with the clear waters of Lake Malawi as the final background. What impressed... More

Lovely spot on the strip at Cape Maclear. The lodges wereSimple but very clean and comfortable. There is a small plunge pool which is great for a quick cool off. Food was excellent and service was very efficient. Shame they had run out of tonic at the bar!

I stayed in the dorm for 1 night and was really pleased with the quality and hygiene. The bathrooms were cleaner than many i had encountered on my travels and with more time the gardens planted outside will also be lovely. A bit more hanging place in the showers, a bin in the loo's (to avoid potential blockages) and a... More

This place is a find. Fantastic location (close to bars, but secluded enough to be quiet - as quiet as it gets in Cape Mac, that is), the rooms are really nicely done, comfy beds, hot water in the shower, a fab lawn with loungers to lie in the sun, friendly staff, excellent food and a great guy for an...
