This is my second stay at Mgoza lodge and I will be back for a third before I leave Malawi. The rooms are a good size, with large comfortable beds and mossie nets. The staff are super helpful and friendly but also very polite and respectful of privacy. The owners are also available to ask questions, and showed great customer... More

This hotel has such a beautiful location right on the beach. The facilities are maintained wonderfully, and the rooms are quaint and a perfect size. The food is very good too, though slightly overpriced for Malawi. The downside: It was very loud all night and into the morning. The walls are very thin, allowing for all of the road noise... More

Thank you for your review I am pleased you liked the location, rooms and food. I am sorry for your not having a good nights rest. I have changed the ground staffs working plan to ensure more quiet at the chalets in the early morning hours. Regarding the mosquito net I am surprised to read there were no nets provided... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Mgoza Lodge. The rooms were pretty and comfortable, with verandas facing the beach. The grass area by the beach was great to lounge on and have meals. The food was quite good, though sometimes food would take a while to get prepared (as in many places in Malawi). The staff was also very pleasant... More

We didn't stay at Mgoza but we came to the restaurant for dinner and came back for breakfast. Excellent food, just slightly more expensive than in the nearby lodge where we stayed but much better quality. And it's a great place to watch the sunset! The owner was very friendly and helped us sort out our transport although we were... More

We spent 4 nights here while visiting our daughter who's volunteering at the Billy Riordan clinic in the village. This is a really friendly and relaxed place with very comfortable beds, good mozzie nets and a spotlessly clean room. The view from the front of your cabana shows one of the world's best sunsets most nights, and the restaurant serves... More

Having been visiting Cape Maclear for the best part of a decade it's safe to say that Mgoza is, from an expat point of view, comfortably the best option in Cape Mac. Centrally located, with comfortable, reasonably priced rooms, right on the beach with a small but clean pool, the best lawn in the Cape and comfortable rooms it ticks... More

After not knowing where to stay in Cape Mac we decided to stay at Mgoza and it was absolutely great! The service is terrific, we got a call in the late afternoon because we were running late and the staff was wondering where we were. The rooms are excellent, king size beds with nets, showers made of mosaic stones and... More

This is an interesting setup for backpackers. They have the hotel/Lodge ambiance plus a big cabana for backpackers. With this the backpackers can have quality food, good service and usage of the pool. They prices are very reasonable. The food is just good. Tasty and prepare at the moment. The menu is not too extensive and they have a little... More

Didn't stay at lodge because we had accommodations away from beach. But we wanted to spend the day at the beach and Mgoza was great to make our home base for the day. Friendly staff, nice tables right on the beach shaded by trees and great food. (Book said best burger in Malawi and it was pretty delicious!) Also had... More

The Mgozalodge is a nice place, where you can enjoy a peaceful wide green garden, meet interesting people, enjoy a sunset drink viewing the lake, and have delicious meals. The owner, Alan, is quite friendly: I forgot my house keys there, and he send me them back to Europe. I you are 2 or 3, I would recommend you to... More
