Very much a last-minute impulse to spend our anniversary in this luxurious stately home, the elegant accommodation and fine dining were a real treat. Approached via a long private drive through pasture and parkland, this beautiful house is alongside the Wye river, of which the rooms have gorgeous views. Not so much a hotel, more like being invited to a dinner party at a country estate! Excellent traditional food by Ben; everyone eating around a circular table in the historic dining room is so much nicer than eating in a faceless restaurant.
