Interestingly, this YHA has in place a dictator at the reception who does as he pleases! There are no rules or regulations, and words, promises or arrangements are not honoured. It's Ok to use the place for overnight sleep, if you cannot find alternate accommodation. However, be warned it is very noisy, being close to the airport and secondly no... More

This is the worst YHA in Australia! I have stayed in more than 5 YHA so far and strongly recommend this one to be avoided by all travellers. People are not friendly and laundry rooms are locked without notice, so you need to wait until their mood has changed. There is a very dirty kitchen with not enough utensils. TV... More

Stayed here because of the distance to airport. An easy 5 minute walk. Excellent if you need to crash before or after a flight. Everything was there albeit basic. Make sure you bring ear plugs as it's quite noisy. The $5 breakfast pack is available with typical box cereal, yoghurt, fruit drink, although a walk to the airport is probably... More

I just stayed here for one night while transiting Gold Coast Airport. The hostel's location was very convenient, you could literally walk from the airport to the hostel in 10 minutes. However, being so close to the airport you can hear the planes coming and going. I also found the noise from the highway a little irritating. Furthermore, you're some... More

We have been in many YHA in New Zealand and Australia but this one is so different to noisy bad quality. Is not fit with YHA standard.... We pass awful night we couldn't sleep because people make noisy until late then pass around the room and speak too loud not respect the rest of the guest.... It is not noise... More

The room was smelling badly, the mattress was uncomfortable, the bed was shaking. Double private room was 5 sqm. Air con was not working properly. It was also not very clean. We booked it because early morning we've been flying from the airport and it's walking distance. Staff was nice, didn't make any troubles.

for three years I have been travelling around the world by pushbike, curently around Australia (20th country). I can spend my nights in all kind of accommodations, but my need for luxury is quite low. it must be reasonable. I spent one night there before flying to NZL. I had a single room, and there is some room for improvement... More

Coming from the south, you land at the airport in the state of New South Wales. By the time the plane gets to the gate, you're in the state of Queensland. That doesn't sound too difficult but there's an one hour time difference during Daylight Savings. YHA offers free shuttles to the twin towns but one better mind the time... More

I stayed here for 6 days in a private room just off the pool area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they kept the premises clean and tidy. Prices are cheap. You can also get a week of unlimited internet (wireless only) for only $15AU! There's a kitchen that you can make your own meals in and a walk-in... More

Hostel clean and spacious and facilities are pretty good. Staff are very friendly and it is fine for a stopover. The atmosphere however is not like other hostels as this appears to be a hostel for those waiting to take flights. No complaints, just a purgatorial night stopover.
