Having read the recent reviews I was a bit concerned about our forthcoming stay. However I had nothing to worry about - our room was lovely the food was fantastic and the staff were lovely. I'd definitely stay there again more

After 9 years of visiting this hotel I think now is the time for a change. The room whilst always of the "faded glory" type are now well past their prime. We booked two rooms for a single night stay (in order to squeeze in a little shopping on our way back to the UK from Belgium). Whilst the chateau building itself is lovely (and the gardens too are pleasant) the rooms are a huge disappointment given the prices charged. We stayed here for one night to break the drive back from Paris to our home in England. The hotel provides a relaxing place to stay. Good points: Lovely aspect, relaxing environment. Good service. What a lovely place to stay. We decided to go shopping in Calais and usually would stay at the Ibis,but as a surprise treat I wanted to stay somewhere with more character.We had dinner that evening and the food was excellent value for money.The breakfast was not good though so we would probably not have that again.
