we arrived on 30th May 2008 and were given room number 11 well it was truly depressing ver y worn everything and horrendous wallpaper just very worn and dated. We complained and said we werent happy with this room and were moved to room 1 which was marginally better so we took it. The food I have to say was... more

Though we now live in the States, we still have homes in the UK and France and this past March 2008 we returned to the Chateau de Cocove after not having stayed there in 7 years. The last time we stayed there we had a very large room in the old part of the chateau - shabby chic at it's... more

Having read the recent reviews I was a bit concerned about our forthcoming stay. However I had nothing to worry about - our room was lovely the food was fantastic and the staff were lovely. I'd definitely stay there again more

After 9 years of visiting this hotel I think now is the time for a change. The room whilst always of the "faded glory" type are now well past their prime. Some have been renovated and these rooms seem OK. This year however we took our dog and were allocated a ground floor room. The room was tatty, not that... more

We have stayed at Chateau de Cocove several times before, so we know what the rooms are like. This time we were shown to Room 22 - the last one at the end of a long corridor - and it was really horrid!!! Compared to some of the rooms, it was very small, dark and even dirty. We soom returned... more

Dirty bedroom and bathroom. Ants! No customer feedback. attempts. Staff poorly trained and reception not interested in complaint. Restaurant -ok but not up to usual french standards. At 100 Euro stay clear! christine hopton July 2007 more

We booked two rooms for a single night stay (in order to squeeze in a little shopping on our way back to the UK from Belgium). Whilst the chateau building itself is lovely (and the gardens too are pleasant) the rooms are a huge disappointment given the prices charged. Our room was small, oddly laid out and very poorly maintained.... more

We stayed here for one night to break the drive back from Paris to our home in England. The hotel provides a relaxing place to stay. Good points: Lovely aspect, relaxing environment. Good service. Rooms a very reasonable price (we paid 88 euros per room for bed and breakfast and booked 2 rooms). Food is quite good. Lovely dining room.... more

What a lovely place to stay. We decided to go shopping in Calais and usually would stay at the Ibis, but as a surprise treat I wanted to stay somewhere with more character. We had dinner that evening and the food was excellent value for money. The breakfast was not good though so we would probably not have that again. We will return...very... more

We stayed at the Chateau de Cocove for 2 nights on our way back from Nice. We had to stay over in Calais area as we had our small dog with us and a visit to the vet was required before we could come back to the UK. Our room was very nice although the bathroom could do with a... more
