It is a hotel with an excellent view over the Rhine River and the beautiful valley that surrounds it. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and bright, although parts of the hotel are a bit labyrinthine as it has a section that only communicates through hallways difficult to decipher where it does not take much to get lost. The employees are... More

I've stayed in some pretty poor hotels in some pretty poor countries over the years but this place takes the cake. The standard of customer service here is appalling, it makes fawlty Towers look like the Ritz! As my title states... "Never again" and I must assume that the rest of the 'Best Western' chain are as bad, so they... More

Stopped here in early September as part of a coach tour, The hotel is totally un-accessible by a modern touring coach as it is situated at the top of a steep hill with narrow archways blocking the access for the coach,so we were forced to either pay for a shuttle bus or walk up the steep cobbled street to the... Our group of 26 friends, all known to one another, were enroute to the French Wine Route, with a two night layover in Breisach. The hotel was quite comfortable, the service was very good and attentive, The dinners were delicious and the breakfasts were the usual European buffets, with some American touches, such as eggs, bacon and toast. We had... More

Stayed here for another overnight stay on our way to Italy. Rather strange looking hotel in a lovely situation overlooking the Rhine. Although the room we were given was large with a reasonable sized balcony overlooking the river, the hotel has probably seen better days and could do with a face-lift. Rather dark panelling to the ceilings made the place... More

We stayed here as part of a coach holiday. Although the hotel generally was clean the staff were unfriendly towards us as a whole. The food was barely warm and they run out a lot of the time and people were kept waiting 40 minutes for the next lot to be cooked. When drinks were ordered from the bar sometimes... More

This Hotel holds a magnificent position overlooking the Rine very peaceful and next to an Abbey, yet within walking distance of a very pretty town. The rooms were excellent with Balconies where you could sit and enjoy the view of the river and watch the passing ships. The breakfast and dinner were buffet style and the English were well catered for... More

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel as part of a Black Forest tour. The roo ms were clean and comfortable. There was an ashtray and matches in the rooms but NO smoke detectors! We were in room 429, had there been a fire on the corridor we would have had to go on to... More

We spent four nights at this old style hotel. The hotel is located in the old fortified part of town with stunning views of the Rhine. The staff are very helpful and the food is varied and very good. The rooms are a little dated but they are spotlessly clean. Our room had a large balcony overlooking the Rhine. Breisach... More

It is certainly a strange hotel. Very large. I wasn't impressed that the restaurant is not open for 3 days of the week. Breakfast is ok. The swimming pool is very nice as long as its not busy. No real bar which is a shame. You have to pay for wifi which I still get annoyed about in hotels. It... More
