We stayed one night and were given rooms in the annexe. These are new (or newly refurbished) rooms, and probably quieter than those in the main hotel, particularly on a night with a bus load of Americans in house. However, the price is that the annexe is opposite the fish factory without any view of the harbour or the bay.... More

I stayed there last weekend and the room was nice, good bed and cosy room but the bathroom was not. There was a very bad moisture smell from the bathroom and I didn´t feel very well staying there for the night. My throat was sore and I got a very bad headache. The room was far too pricey comparing to... More

Unpromising from the outside, cosy on the inside. We had an attic room which was tiny, and would have been uncomfortable for more than a night. No where even to put a suitcase. But other rooms looked lovely. No curtains, so if you expect to sleep in the summer bring eyemasks or be exhausted. Its quite a long drive from... More

We got a friendly welcome at Framnes hotel although we arrived quite late. We learned that we wouldn't be staying in the old building, but in a new one further up the road. We had some trouble finding the entrance of this new building, since it was very badly indicated. The rooms in the building were new indeed, there was... More

Quite a drive up to this hotel from the airport, but once past the capital the roads gets quiet and the scenery exciting. Hotels in Iceland are rather different to the UK , they often look a bit disappointing but once inside they are usually comfortable and clean. This one didn't look too enticing, but it is situated close to... More

Lovely modern hotel located near the harbour. The room was spacious and well appointed with a nice en-suite. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place had a nice atmosphere. The food was varied and of good quality and we would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone exploring the quite wonderful Snaefell peninsula.

We had a room in the new first and second floor annexe just down the road. The room was bright and new as was the shower room. It only had one chair for the two of us though. Did not have much of a view. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was o.k. but nothing special. Breakfast was competent... More

This is an interesting establishment. The place itself looks a bit old and run down. The bathroom could do with some renovating. The window in the room was indeed small as others have pointed out here. However, I read the booklet about the hotel in the room (yep, too much time on my hands...) and found the history of this... This is a modest hotel in a nice small town. The room was large and comfortable, with a nice bathroom, but it was on the 3rd floor (I think they refer to this as the 2nd floor above the ground floor). That is only a problem if you have any issue with stairs (no elevator). What really impressed us is... More

Whilst visiting my in-laws in Keflavik, my husband and I took a mini break for two nights on 26th December and stayed at Hotel Framnes. We hoped for a relaxing peaceful break and the possiblity of seeing the northern lights. Being Xmas, the town was very quiet and so was the hotel. We had a room on the 2nd floor... More
