5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Very clean, spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Breakfast had a wide variety (cereals/yoghurt/cheese and meats/icelandic) of foods and dinner in the restaurant was delicious. The chocolate dessert was absolutely amazing, I'd like to return to Iceland just to have it again! The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Right on the seafront, you walk out the backdoor and the... More

We have stayed in a different hotel every night, and although this is our least favorite, it certainly was just fine - somewhat like having three good dresses from which to choose. All nice, but two are no the favorite. Our room had a funky smell - perhaps someone had been smoking, but there was another scent as well. We... More

second time round we found the hotel still the same though we were put in the annex building down the road. The room was smaller and I didn't like the bathroom door which didn't seem big enough for the hole. The wifi was also poor in the annex. The food was as lovely as ever and though we haven't used,... Friendly cosy hotel, very well situated to explore the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We had a second floor room in a separate building, around 50m from the main seafront building. Room was clean, fairly standard with a nice view of the mountains. Restaurant had plenty of local seafood, with the other usual Icelandic choices of lamb, burgers... and the usual Icelandic prices.... More

Thankyou hotel framnes for a lovely 4days! There was a little confusion over type of room booked at first but was sorted out promptly. Food excellent , warm and welcoming staff . We saw the northern lights, plus humpback whales on our boat trip. Thankyou again . Lynn and Ray Silvester.

Started my visit with dinner at the outstanding restaurant! Food was great and service was good. From there, I was ushered off to the "annex" about 50 meters from the main hotel. Located over one of the local day trip businesses, the annex was modern and clean...just very small. So small in fact, you have to push the shower doors... More

We stayed here for three nights and, frankly, were glad we had not booked for longer. We had a superior room booked through a travel company and were very disappointed with it. It was small with the double bed pushed up against one wall, only a small hanging rail for clothes (four coat hangers) and no cupboard or drawer and... More

This hotel is owned by the owner of the whale watching boats and the cafe. The hotel is a five minute walk from the whale watching boat Loki 2. The whale watching equipment store is a two minute walk from the hotel. The hotel has good sized bedrooms each with its own ensuite. Our room looked in-land and over the... More

My two friends and I had three nights at Hotel Framnes, and really enjoyed the experience. Like most visitors, we were there to take whale watching tours with Laki Tours, whose office is just a hundred meters down the road. The two businesses have a symbiotic relationship, which is very useful in case of a change of boat-trip itinerary because... More

I booked the Framnes as I'm an Orca nut and desperate to see them in the wild. The taffy were extremely helpful when I was booking and even managed to sort us out a sea view room (I really hoped to see those orcas!) the room (101) was comfy - lovely bed, clean functional bathroom and a huge window looking...
