hotel was next to a fishing factory, so it smelled like fish everywhere. rooms weren't clean, the pillows were stained and did not have pillow covers, so we had to put our own clothes on top of the pillow as covers. breakfast is not "scrumptious" as the hotel claims, it's very basic. dinner at the restaurant was good. hotel staff... We spent two nights in Hotel Framnes when touring round Iceland. Grundarfjordur is a great place to travel round the Snaefellnes peninsula from so Hotel Framnes is an ideal base. We enjoyed the friendly welcome and our room was a cute little L shaped room with a sofa and small desk/dressing table with chair. Bathroom was functional - the shower... More

Rooms: clean, full of small attentions, best bed I found in Iceland. Restaurant: great breackfast, and a very good meal at dinner (love it). Service: everybody is so nice and helpful. They also have a sauna and an hot tub. I should have staied only 1 night, but I felt do good in this hotel, that I decided to stay... More

We enjoyed our brief stay here. The room was clean, the bathroom fine, the breakfast plentiful, and the evening meal we had there was very tasty. Our room faced the water, where gulls were squabbling over the spill-out from the fish factory, while the street side of the hotel has a good view of Kirkjufell. Yes, the hotel is next... More

I stayed here a couple of years ago and returned as it is a lovely place. Comfy rooms, if a little Ikea basic! Rather annoying fixed shower attachment above and draughty shower-curtain blowing over you. Otherwise comfortable and clean. Tasty food in the restaurant (I had a nice fish soup) and reasonable breakfast. When I stayed before in March the... More

We stayed at Hotel Framnes for one night in September, on a brief stopover in Iceland. The hotel is comfortable and very clean, and the room was small. I had a room on the third floor so that was a bit less convenient for hauling my luggage all the way up the stairs. I had a nice supper in the... More

We spent 2 nights here in room 324 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The bed was comfortable and the room was a pleasant temperature. Furnishing was simple and the shower a little on the claustrophobic side, but the shower delivered a great flow of water. There was also a small sofa. The best part of the stay was undoubtedly the excellent... More

Avery nice hotel, great view from the window, warm spa outside, dinner adequate, comfortable room, very tight shower, good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Old computer which was very slow for public use.

When you approach the hotel, it doesn't look too enticing. But once you get inside, all that changes. The inside is lovely and quaint (great history -- it was a fishing lodge at one time) and charming. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are fine. We ate dinner and breakfast there and found both meals to be... More

Although the hotel is very near the sea it is in an industrial area, with oil tanks and factories nearby (the angles on the photos online are very carefully chosen!). Our room was in their new annex, which is a separate building a short way down the road. It was clean and new, though the TV didn't work and there... More
