Lunch at the Bistro at Chateau de Reynats, which we had heard praised was very disappointing in terms of service and ambience. At the start the wait staff did not recognize the name of the simple local aperitif I asked for ( vin de peche) and did not know if there was any. After spilling the bottled water on the... More

I booked the orangerie at this hotel as I was on a motorcycle road trip to Biarritz and this was a convenient stop. The orangerie is a modern block to one side of the hotel and is a functional and pleasant environment for the money - it was very good value at £50 for the night for a double room.... More

Stayed in 3 hotels on this two week stay in France. I spent the most money , 220 Euro a night, on this hotel thinking that we would leave on a high note. Sad to say was not the case. I guess one should always read the fine print however given the amount per room and the fact that even... More

I expected much more. The photos and the description from the red michelin guide are deceiving. Though good, the hotel is somewhat not well kept, some rooms old fashioned, doors, beds a bit too old. Too expensive for the service you get. Good breakfast.

Stayed 2 nights.... But only because we'd booked up front and paid in full! Very pretty to look at, nice part of France. Our booking was for a twin room, non-smoking, air conditioning. We got a smokers double, no air con, not even tea and coffee making facilities. Despite keeping roller blind down, room was humid and cooking by evening... More

I agree with the other reviewers who gave this hotel a low rating.. i.e overpriced and disappointing (4 star it is not!). The hotel is 3 kilometres from the city, and we were not in a position to drive back into town to have dinner. (20 Euro with the taxi each way) so we decided to eat in the bistro... More

after booking this hotel purely on its reputation for gourmet eating .It was very disappointing after being given a very shabby room to being told that the restuarant was full that night and closed the next . We were given an a4 sheet with selection for the l`oison restaurant ,the selection was very limited as we would have been offered... More

We staid in this hotel with the family for one week and everything was OK but not splendid. The rooms are small, they don't have a single room that is big enough to accommodate two extra beds, so not good for families. There is no airconditioning and it does get hot, which means that one has to open the window... More

The chateau was renovated awhile ago and looks it. Assistance with your luggage was done by Julie who manages the front desk. No bellman. The Hotel is well situated to trips to Perigueux . The rooms are large with few lights and electrical outlets. Closet space is not ample. The bath is sparse with only a hand held shower and... More

We were wooed by the photos on the Hotel website. We wanted somewhere special for a celebratory lunch. The reallity was the worst meal we have ever experienced in France. The snooty wine waiter was put-out when I requested a "carafe" of wine. I really did not want to spend big money on a bottle of wine-we were driving. We... More
