I'm not a fussy traveler, and stay in all sorts of places (hostels in Europe and Asia, and I've travelled all over North America staying in motels). In general, I'm fine wherever I stay. And I've never written a negative review of a hotel before. However, the Totem Motel was the worst place I have ever stayed. When traveling low... More

Quaint little cabins...close to town. But....the cleanliness of these places was forgotten. The dust was so thick on all ledges and around doors. Carpets were very badly stained along with the walls. Bathroom was beyond gross. Bathroom sink cracked and dirty. Edges of bathtub very dirt and fan thick with dust. We get that the establishment is old and in... More

Oh my goodness! Never expected the Ritz but the place is filthy! Everything dying out side & in the unit was scary! I'm glad I brought my slippers to walk on flooring & flip flops for the shower. Bugs, dirt & dust everywhere. Have the pics to prove it! When we were coming back from breakfast we seen the guy... More

The place is the best in town....clean and excellent service. Most of all the employee is honest. They called when one of friends forgot her bracelet. It was shipped to my friends place. I really commend them for their extra special care for the guest. I highly recommend the place to any of my friends and I would love to... More

Lytton isn't exactly the place to go for all-star accommodation. That being said, we felt lucky that we found the Totem motel for a reasonable price of around $90/night. To be honest, I don't think there are many places to stay beyond that, with the exception of Kumsheen Rafting resort outside the village. Our room was actually a full scale... More

Spent 2 nights here en route from Vancouver to Kelowna. The small houses are very special. Air condition machine looked very old, but we managed to make it work. Internet was very slow. Room and bathroom were nice and clean, and the private lawn was very nice.

I arrived trying to be optimistic. It was late and we were tired and hungry. I tried to think charming, but the bloody boogger smeared on the wall tipped the scale. It was old, it was musty, our cabin had NO view. There is a railway line in the backyard and the night we were there, more than twice an... More

My boyfriend and I needed a comfy and cosy place to stay for a couple of nights while we partook in a White Water River Adventure. Eighty-three dollars per night (not including tax) seemed very reasonable. We stayed in cabin number one which was surprisingly roomy. We had a full kitchen, with table and chairs and all the necessities for... More

We don't have anything to compare this motel with in Lytton but it's apparently the nicer one. Nothing special but we did enjoy sitting in the yard looking at the river. Kinda smelled musty. Owner didn't speak English well. We had confusion over price. Tourism office right beside the motel, they were very helpful and friendly. They let us borrow... More

The Totem Motel is excellent value in the little town of Lytton where the Fraser and Thompson rivers come together. The small cabins are quaint but spotlessly clean and well equipped. Trains clinging to the sides of the Fraser gorge go past on both sides of the town and are a truly fascinating sight - the noise was tolerable but... More
