This little hotel is not 'perfect' , it's not 'modern', it's not 'hi speck' , but it is run by the most charming , lovely couple , who make every effort to ensure you have a good stay . If you're looking for a quiet , friendly , charming stay in the area of Reggio , then I highly recommend... More

We stayed here for two nights at the end of March while visiting the area to research my father-in-law's WWII exploits in the Reggio Emilia area. I had no idea that the hotel was situated in such a pleasant rural setting on the side of a valley just south of Albinea. The room was clean and comfortable and I had... More

This is the second time I've visited. I stayed here with my wife for three nights in one of their honeymoon suites and couldn't fault the place. The room was extremely spacious, clean and well equipped with a mini bar, TV, telephone, air conditioning, hair dryer etc etc and our bed was made every day! Something which I wasn't expecting... The hotel is located in a park-like area used by many locals with old empty buildings and a chapel. However, there were not many tourists in the area or in the hotel in August when we were there. The place felt more like a cosy B&B with a few guests than the regular hotel it really is. The wonderful couple... More

I stayed here during a recent Italian motorcycle holiday and happened upon this place by chance. It really is a best kept secret, but I think this should change as the place is fantastic. The hotel is situated on approach to Albinea and in fact is just past the white town sign you will pass as you enter the town.... More

Located just outside a small town in the foothills to the South of Reggio Emilia.....great to explore the cities famous for Parmesean cheese, proscuitto and Balsamic vinegar; the drives to see the ruins of the of castles of Queen Matilda of Tuscany. The hotel is located in a park and there are walking paths. 28 very comfortable rooms with modern... More

If you're looking for somewhere quiet, clean, friendly and idillic then you cant get much better. Set in parkland the place just oozes tranquility and well-being, how its managed to retain such character and charm I shall never know, but its to be applauded. The staff are friendly and helpful and the owner is the nicest fellow you'll ever meet,... More

To explore the culinary rgion of Emilia Romagna I made my base camp in the town of Albinea, situated just a few kilometres south of the city of Reggio Emilia. I chose the Hotel Garden Viganó, ([--]), because of its location in the gastronomic heart of the region and also due to its peaceful parkland setting. The hotel is a... More
