We spend 3 nights at these bungalows in Cherating. The family who runs the accomodation is very very nice and helped us along the way. Took some surfing lessons and rented a board for a couple of days! Gerrard & Wadi thanks!

If you want to surf in Malaysia, this is the spot ! The cherating point surf school HQ is at this chalet park. The people are so kind, they Will help you with everything. You can get A chalet from 30rm up to 50rm (with own bathroom). Besides surfing (from nov-jan) there is not that much to do.

50 rm for a double room with attached bathroom + toilet and fan, mosquito nets and a veranda. The chalets are in a lovely garden bit and it is very nice. They give you towels and blankets on arrival and the staff is friendly and laid back. You can rent surf boards and they also offer courses as well as... More

A quaint family run guesthouse, Mata Hari Chalets was a great place to stay for 4 days. It's conveniently located less than five minutes walk to restaurants and the beach. The main area is like a garden and well tended, making it one of the nicer looking and feeling guesthouses in the area. The large garden and kitchen are great... More

My partner and I absolutely loved this place! The chalets are adorable and are set in a really well maintained garden, the people here are lovely too! The rooms could have definitely been a little cleaner but for the price it was grand! Nice balcony to sit on on an evening :) They have rabbits that you can feed and... More

CHeap Chalets ranging from 20-50RM. Location is walking distance from the beach. The owner is very friendly and did not charge me for an extra bed. There is a free coffee/tea in the Mata Hari Kitchen. You can even buy fresh seafood in Pasar Borong (wet market) and cook your own food in Mata Hari. The Kitchen is yours, just... More

Great place to stayover if youre just gonna go there for a few days. Chalet is fine. Very clean. Nice environment to relax and chill. Aircond rooms are also available. Fan is actually good enough already if youre trying to save some $$$. Walking distance to the beach, about 5-7mins walk.

It's a perfect solution when staying at the beach for a few days, the dive shop is just outside the door aswell as a shop and a few restaurants. The staff is friendly and can help you arrange almost anything. The rooms with fans are very hot.

This lovely place with chalets around a nice garden is definitely recommended. There is option for chalets with shared bathroom or ones with bathroom inside. we had the first mentioned and everything was very clean. There is a common kitchen. Next time we will stay here again.

There are about a dozen budget options in Cherating (which is a very small town spread over 2 streets) and there isn't a huge amount of difference between them all. I looked at rooms at 8 of them, and decided I liked Mata Hari best. They have about a dozen basic wooden cabins clustered around a central green area. All... More
