We stayed here for 3 nights ...Price is good and it is nice and clean! As it was Ramadan, nearly every shops and restaurants were closed. Hopefully there was some river cruise, firefly tour and tortule attraction next door.

The best thing about this guesthouse was definitely Yaya - he was so incredibly helpful and a great character. He picked us up from the bus station late at night as well. Would have been great to have a hot shower - cold showers are always a bit of a shock. Price is good and it is nice and clean!

We stayed here for 4 nights with our 2 kids. The huts are basic for sure but it's cheep so I wasn't expecting luxury! This is a quiet little place set by the river so watch out for Mosquitos from about 4.30pm. The sea is only minutes away, there are nicer beaches in the area but all you have to... More

We wanted to stay for few days here. First it seemed nice. The chalet was nice, in a garden, not very clean, but still ok as we are backpackers and on holydays. A lot of kittens, without mum, were walking around, unfed... At night, a very loud music and a LOT of mosquitos !! When we first arrived a man... More

We stay at Payung for 3 nights and I find it just like home. The environment and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Yahya and Jamal, both are really nice, friendly and helpful. Yahya try his best to arrange transportation to pick up us at the Kuantan terminal even it was a last minutes request. Jamal prepare simple breakfast for... More

I am not a fan of backpackers stay but I must say Payung Guest House changed my perception. The rooms are alright and comfortable and the surroundings are beautiful. They have air condition rooms too. I think they charge RM80 for air-cond rooms and RM60 for rooms with fan. And if you are a walk-in guest arriving late at the... More

We stayed at Payung for 2 nights and could have happily stayed for much longer if we had more time. Sure the huts maybe a little basic and worn around the edges but they are clean and comfortable and far better than some other places I have stayed that have cost us more money. The setting is lovely, with a... More

This is a must stay for those traveling on the cheap! The bungalows are pretty basic but you have everything you need and more. I have to say though the best part about this place is the staff! They are all lovely and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The manager Yahya is very helpful. He... More

I stayed at payung for 2 nights and the experience was very good. Yaya who runs the place is very helpful, helped me with bus tickets to kl. You can book any bus tickets with Yaya and he will also drop you to the bus station . The chalet's are comfortable and clean.

We arrived late at night at the bus station, had nothing booked and were quite lost..There was a man offering us a room for a good rate- we had not much of a choice and didnt expect anything at all. the room was ok though.it's not the nicest place ever but it's in walking distance from the beach. The best... More
