The first place we stayed at of four on a tour of Sri Lanka and overall we very much enjoyed it. Pictures on the hotel website give a fairly accurate view of the rooms - fairly basic but comfortable enough and pretty clean (though the hotel guide book in the room was pretty disgusting). There is a decent pool and... More

My wife and I spent three nights at Chaaya Village on our recent three week tour of Sri Lanka, and it was our favourite. The location, overlooking the " tank ", and amongst the trees, gave it a relaxing ambience. It was a good base to visit the cultural triangle. The rooms were large, comfortable and clean - with the... More

We had a great stay here. The staff were very helpful even staying up to bring our luggage at 2am when it missed the connecting flight. We had a deluxe chalet which was very clean and spacious. It is basic furnishings but everything you need is there. Bathroom a good size. The swimming pool area was great and the children... More

Great place to base for trips to the cultural triangle including Sigiriya. We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 boys after driving from Pinnewala elephant sanctuary. Rooms were a little small for 4, but we're clean and the staff could not do enough to help us. Only food options were the buffet which was the same for most places... More

We stayed for two nights as a family of four. Unfortunately we did not get the interconnecting rooms that we requested but they were directly next door. The pool area was lovely as was the location by the lake and the monkeys and other wildlife. It was very close for the trips we wanted to do. The buffet was excellent... More

Staying at Chaaya Village was a unique experience for both of us. Not only for the serene beauty of the surroundings, but for the warm hospitality of all staff members starting from the reception to the bell boys and even going down to the gardeners and to the security guards. We have no doubt that this culture has been developed... More

Stayed here for two nights as part of the Kuoni Ceylon Tour. I have to say this was one of the best hotels we stayed in on the tour. The staff were amazing, couldn't do enough. The bar staff and the restaurant staff were fantastic, so friendly. When we were here Sri Lanka was playing England in the cricket and... More

We were given a lovely welcome here and all the staff were so friendly. The rooms are clean and simple and in the form of individual huts arranged very prettily around lawns and a central courtyard with a water feature - we were lucky enough to see some cheeky monkeys take a late afternoon bathe. Food was great and we... More

We were enchanted by the sympathetic set up of this hotel with the pool, restaurant and bar areas positioned to have amazing views of the lake and wild life. From the moment we arrived the staff made every effort to ensure our stay was memorable. We were upgraded to a suite (Eagle Lodge) which had an outside shower and jacuzzi... More

Our first stop in Sri Lanka, this hotel was honestly a piece of heaven. Beautiful pool, individual cabana type rooms and eating in the open air at night. Overlooking a lake that has lovely elephant rides around the shore, does it get much better than this?
