Spent a night at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised. Nice serene view of the lake and you feel totally relaxed the moment you get in. Need a bit of improvement in the area of food, but a good overall experience. For those travelling with kids, the loft rooms are great. A small hotel, compact and nice with very friendly... More

Good property by the lake. I was very satisfied with the room and the ambiance. My children enjoyed the elephant safari which was right next to the hotel and an elephant can be sighted almost every hour. The food was below par and we expected a better variety for LKR 18,000 Full board double. It was quite surprising and dissapointing... More

My daughter and I spent 2 nights at this hotel while we visited the cultural triangle. The hotel was well located with a lovely view over the Habarana tank. One could sit on the balcony and watch the sunset. The rooms were large and well decorated. however Like some other reviews I too felt a little bit more finesse was... More

Great personal balconies to watch the sunset. You can walk on the elephant path. Wonderfully spacious, sunny rooms. A nice, new feeling to the place which was refreshing after staying in older, established places.

We stayed for one night after visiting Sigiriya (Lions Rock) and Minneriiya. The staff were helpful and our room over looking the lake was beautiful. Unfortunately, as previously noted by others the room lacked many personal touches which for a hotel of this standard you would expect. The buffet food was less than adequate, even after complaining to the chef,... More

Dinner and breakfast offered good selection and good quality. Restaurant had cooking station that in the evening did fresh naan and in the... More

Nice and spatious room, perfect location. Lots of potential to be a Nice boutique hotel, BUT .... Some things need to be ameliorated: bad towel quality, plastic shower curtain, bit lack of style and staff training. Food is ok. All this hotel needs is a bit of restyling and this could become a pearl with perfect quotes!

We were there for two nights, this hotel location was suggested by our travel agent. We thought the location seems suitable, it was not too far for us to travel to Elephant Orphanage, Dambulla rock cave, Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa etc. Pros: 1. The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. 2. Free wifi available at the lobby area 3. The... More

My husband and I spent two nights at the Sorowwa Resort, using the hotel as our base of touring the northern part of the island. Our room was very nice and quite functional. The balcony was great -- we enjoyed sitting and watching the elephant rides across the dam of the lake -- beautiful sunset. The restaurant was good --... More
