Had a spar day including lunch 22aug14. Kipper pate with salad and a horseradish cream. Mmm lovely and fresh, but not too overpowering. Lamb with jus, crushed peas and Vegetables. Delicious, two sorts of lamb. A lovely warm almond tart, with cherries and cream on the side. The pastry was to die for. Friendly efficient service and a nice glass... More

Stayed here for a family wedding. Everything from the welcome on arrival to the 'bye' on departure was absolutely spot on. The food was great and the atmosphere so peaceful. The staff are really good, friendly and helpful. Would we go back? In an instant.....

Just been to a church wedding in N.Northumberland so the reception was held at nearby Doxford Hall Hotel; We were there for a wedding last year and were not impressed; Room Lindisfarne backed against the bar and above the function suite so was so noisy we could not sleep. HOWEVER this latest overnight stay was in room Aydon with pleasant... More

A friend bought me a voucher for a Spa day and I went along for the half day session which included afternoon tea. Hotel reception very welcoming and directed to the Spa. No one on the reception desk but a notice saying all staff busy doing treatments. Not such a good start. Eventually someone turned up and showed us around... More

We stayed for 5nights in July and cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. The bedrooms beautifully furnished as were the public areas.Especially enjoyed our one night in the newly appointed coach house room, well worth the short walk through the garden. We would definitely return!

We've been before. We're both quite particular and the place ticked all the boxes, so we returned and were not disappointed. It's a pity the bloke in an earlier review didn't receive a better response to his apparently legitimate complaint about the bright light outside his room during the night - could have been better handled. However, we have been... More

Doxford Hall is set in beautiful grounds surrounded by lovely countryside. The hall itself is very impressive, nicely decorated and filled with superb furniture. Our bedroom was very comfortable although not quite as big as we had expected and the bathroom was well appointed and quite large. What a pity that with such a large bathroom the shower, which was... My mum and I spent an enjoyable day in the spa, having been a few times before we knew what to expect. Arriving at 9.30am whem it opened, meant we were lucky enough to have the whole pool to ourselves for the first hour. There are two jacuzzis, we had a swim in the pool and there is also a... More

We stayed here for a family wedding and our party had booked 3 double rooms. We were told by the bride that arrangements had been made for us to access our rooms at 10am. Unfortunately, on arrival rooms were not ready. This was apparently due to a mix up with the wedding planner. Two of us had luckily showered prior... More
