My wife and I picked this place for a 4 day visit to the Northumberland coast. Bottom line is the place is OK, but could do better. We treated ourselves to a superior room and it was large, clean had everything you need and a HUGE bathroom, But the little features were missing, the shower didn't have a door -... More

The hotel is set in beautiful countryside and just a short way from the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished – not the usual flat pack range. Continental breakfast was a little disappointing, merely the small “Babybell” cheese and a small sausage shaped smoked cheese, croissant, a cheese pastry and pan au... More

The food in the restaurant was excellent and wine quality and reasonable price. BUT weddings can spoil the atmosphere in cocktail bar and other rooms before and after your meal. However I believe that weddings are the bread and butter income Doxford so I would tolerate them to keep open the restaurant and chef employed!

We stayed here for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary in August and loved it. Doxsford Hall is a magnificent building with fabulous well kept grounds. Check in was swift and professional. We were aided with our luggage and taken to our room. ROOM 34 - JOHN DOBSON Our first impressions were simply expressed as “ WOW “. The... More

Classic country hotel in quiet rural location with beautiful gardens and high standards. We stayed in the newly equipped coach house which is absolutely luxurious. But there is a big BUT. The hotel is frequently used for weddings and these can distribute the thumping beat of the disco throughout the main areas of the hotel - including the restaurant. The... More

My wife and I booked in for a Spa day and Lunch in the restaurant. The spa is very clean, spacious and very compact. No need to walk far to receive treatments, or to visit the relaxation room. The main focus for our day was lunch. Firstly I will start by saying the lady who served us throughout our lunch... More

We stayed for 2 nights while attending our sons wedding which was held at the hotel. It is a really lovely hotel and is set in such beautiful grounds. We stayed in The Prudhoe Room which was very spacious and even had a jacuzzi bath. The two Full English breakfasts we had were very nicely cooked, though we both did... More

Had a spar day including lunch 22aug14. Kipper pate with salad and a horseradish cream. Mmm lovely and fresh, but not too overpowering. Lamb with jus, crushed peas and Vegetables. Delicious, two sorts of lamb. A lovely warm almond tart, with cherries and cream on the side. The pastry was to die for. Friendly efficient service and a nice glass... More
