I think you will either love it or hate it although I have to admit to being somewhere in the middle. I am sure my overall view is coloured by the weather we experienced while we were here. After a long drive we arrived to no water. It was windy, sand blowing everywhere and hot. No shower and you couldn't... More

Although this Senior Reviewer found this ... "a hard review to write"... she was not too slow in writing it. She drove out, leaving Dar Sid Bounou after 3 days, on May the 31st... and the review appeared on May 31st... so possibly the Reviewer wrote it when she first arrived... rather than after she had departed. i always thought... Coming to Dar Sidi Bounou regularly now as it such a wonderfully peaceful place with friendly people, excellent food and just the right 'desert chill'. It is always a pleasure to come back and enjoy the Berber hospitality, dance around the campfire, drum in sunrise and sunset and escape the world for a while.

I visited dar sidi bounou in February 2011 and it exceeded all my expectations. I travelled as part of a group who had visited bounou before, led by allal"the madnomad" and we could not have felt more welcome! the food is exceptional and do not pass up the chance to help cook your own tagine if it is offered! from... I am now addicted to this wonderful quirky place and feel like its more home than home. The welcome is warm and unconditional. The plumbing is still wonky, the bathroom doors don't lock, the stars shine at night and the sand gets everywhere. I got to lead a camel and cook a tagine The music is such a treat -... More

I travelled to Dar Sidi Bounou in October 2010, 2011 and again in 2012, initially for 4 nights, most recently for 10 nights. I would return there again with great pleasure. Daoud, Nancy and the DSB staff have worked hard to develop the original farmhouse and palmerie into a beautiful creative space, which evolves and improves year by year -... More

We (2 adults, 3 children - aged 7, 4 & 1) had a magical time at dar sidi boubou. We were immediately made to feel very welcome by Daould and Nancy, the children enjoyed drumming and bathing in a tub on the terrace. Our highlights were sleeping together on the roof and camping in the desert (the 2 older children... More

We spent two nights at Sidi Bounou. The place is warm and cozy. I love music, so had the chance to try the guimbri (gnawa acoustic bass) and play drums with the local musicians at night. Also loved talking with Nancy, the hostess, and her crew and about travels and life. Besides, we spent one night at the desert. Our... More

You have to see and hear and feel Darsidibounou. Sights and sounds and great hospitality. You can wander alone or you can join in the dance and music till the early hours. Berber tents and rugs take you to another world with handsome young men in turbans and gowns to help at every turn. One moment they are playing the... More

This review is long overdue. The grounds lie just at the foot of the Sahara. My partner and I stayed in one of the detached rooms which was beautifully hand built in the traditional Moroccan fashion. Nancy is the most accommodating hostess and her staff respect and adore her. We stayed three or four nights, but I did not want... More

Dar Sidi has the charm of a simple rustic place in a desert oasis, where Nancy and her team make you feel really welcome. The atmospere is informal and welcoming. It makes you easily mix with the team and other travelers. Nancy is your host, who sits with you at the table for eating, and makes great conversation. She is... More
