Stumbled on to this fine hotel. Great set up with indoor pool, several saunas and wellness stations that were well maintained, clean and satisfying. Plenty of towels are a big plus. Breakfast was delightful as were the dinners. Monika at the front office was helpful and just a pleasure to deal with. Christmas decor showed the attention to detail that... More

I had a pleasant stay at the Goldener Ochs a few weeks ago. The single room was clean and comfortable, with a partial view of the river and town beyond. The hotel is quite close to the bus/rail stations, in that it’s probably a 10 minute roll of the suitcase, through the main street (passing a small Billa if you... More

We chose this hotel because of it's good reviews and we weren't disappointed. From the moment we entered the hotel we knew we made the right choice. ALL the staff are very friendly and extremely accommodating. The breakfast buffet is very varied and generous. The swimming pool and wellness area is nicer than the pictures suggest. Thank you Goldener Ochs... More

This is a beautiful, friendly and luxurious hotel, located in a quiet part of town across the Traun river. We had a large and comfortable room on the first floor (separate WC and bathroom were welcome). The double-glazed windows cut out noise at night from their (busy) garden restaurant below. Breakfast was included in our plan– and the spread every... More

Ok, I give 4 stars to the staff. They were very kind. No air conditioning, no fridge in the room, but they offered their fridge of the reception for our vine and foods. They opened windows in the evening to make the temperature comfy. Breakfast was good, spa was fine. The location is great! The lady from reception was friendly... More

The rooms are big and comfy, the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is generous and the spa is comfortable. It is quaint and located at a great jumping off point for the lake region and Hallstatt. Its also the best dinner in town - offering typical Austrian dishes, including venison. To note, Bad Ischl is a town that... More

This hotel is just across the river from the main square, so the location is great. It has the grace and amenities of a first-class hotel, and the warmth and friendliness of a B&B. It is family run, and Frau Schweiger (sp?) was behind the desk when we checked in. Our room was large, well furnished bordering on the elegant,... More

Location: superb. Easy walking to Kaiser villa and the downtown area. Parking was available on street next to hotel. There was also a garage nearby (fee).   Service: Reception check in and out was easy. Very helpful staff.  Quoted rates are per person, not per room. While this was not the lowest priced choice, the amenities and comfort are commensurate... More

We came here for an evening meal whilst staying with friends who live in the area. When we arrived, it took a while for us to catch someones eye and let them know that we had a reserved table. However, after that service was excellent. We all selected the main course of venison fillet. it was beautifully presented,so tender and... More

We were looking for a stop between Vienna and Salzburg and happened upon the Goldener Ochs. We were pleasently surprised with cleanliness, friendliness and extra ammenities the Hotel had to offer. The pool and spa were a welcome relief from our travel. The early check in allowed us to go visit the area without all of our luggage and then... More
