This hotel has recently changed hands after being in the same family for decades. Consequently it needs a lot of renovation and modernisation and the new team is working hard at that. They have created a welcoming bar which would be lovely. Bad ischl isn't really a place which sets out to welcome tourists and even during the festival we... More

Stayed here twice in one week in road-facing rooms 214 and 107. Both far too noisy to get much sleep as traffic passes on two sides . The pillows were like nylon spheres and it was sweltering, impossible to sleep, the tiny air con made no impression. Dogs in the breakfast room and a cat in the bar! A very... More

Positive - Although on the main road, the location is rather good. Traffic is little during the night so that noise is not an issue. At the same time the main attractions and shopping are within 10 minutes walking distance. - All staff were very friendly. Negative - One of our beds was making noise with every move and the... The hotel was nice and clean. Rooms were not very big but not to small. Toilet was a bit out of date. Not flat screen tv. The location in the town was good, but this town is mainly a skiing resort during winter so the town was a bit empty. Good value for money and the staff was very nice.... More

The tourist office in Bad Ischl needs to remove this hotel from its offerings. The owners struck me as being only interested in getting as much money as possible for as little service as possible. There was a construction site outside the hotel that was very loud. The restaurant was uncreative and served sub-standard fare. The only redeeming thing was... More

Food was of very low quality, the furniture in the rooms were broken, I leant on the sink and it collapsed and even the replacement sink was broken, you could never get the shower at a constant temperature, it was either boiling or freezing, the toilet wouldn't flush for two days and the free wi-fi was terrible, it wouldn't allow... Located in the middle of the city, is just few hundred meters away from the center and from the Kaiservilla palace. The room was good, and spacious. Bathroom clean. Very good beds! Excellent breakfast! Definitely a good choice if you are planning to visit the beautiful Bad Ischl.

We were driving between Hallstadt and Salzburg and happy to find this very reasonably priced 3 star accommodation in Bad Ishel. The town is very small, and charming to walk through. This is perfect for a one night sleep to rest and regroup. Parking was right outside the hotel. They do have a lift which helped for luggage, though the... More

Great for a one night stay while touring. Staff very friendly and very good breakfast. Dinner was really nice and very reasonable but beware they only take cash in restaurant. The chocolates on checking out were a great touch - made sure you remembered the hotel when you are staying somewhere different every night! Interesting fact Edward VIII stayed there.

We were catching the bus from Salzburg to Bad Ischl after our car hire fell through to discover the Lakes region. The bus driver dropped us right out the front of the hotel as it is located on the "outskirts" of town. Bad Ischl is small. It was a short 5-10 minute walk to all the action so the location... More
