We stayed here for 2 nights during a recent 2 week trip to Merida. What a fantastic break from the city! Located about 1 KM north of Celestun center, it was well worth the walk. (you could hire a cheap tricycle taxi, but we like walking and just had our backpacks) We checked out 3 places in town first, but... more

We stayed for 2 nights in June of 2009 and had the place to ourselves. Walking out onto the beach, where you can swim, relax, play with the dogs (we miss you, Dora!), or sleep, was the best part of our stay in Mexico. The location can't be beat and the beach feels like your own private oasis. Karen and... more

We spent 3 nights in a wonderful new beachfront studio apartment. Very comfortable and practical furnishings. Kenn and Karen were extremely helpful in every way, from chauffeuring us in town and to arranging a personal fishing trip and the absolute best tour of the natural life in the area. Alex, the guide, gave us insights into the Mayan salt farming... more

The first thing I must say is that the owners, Ken and Karen are wonderful! This place is cozy, charming, and right on the beach. We wish we could have stayed longer. The room was clean and beautiful, and the kitchenette had everything you could need. Ken and Karen set us up with a boat tour to see the flamingos,... more

We had a wonderful time in Celestun. Its a do-it yourself atmosphere. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils/gadgets. I don’t cook on a vacation, but I did use this kitchen more than usual. It was nice to stock the fridge with cheese, meats and beer. You could have breakfast and lunch at Casa de Celeste Vida and splurg on... more

Having travelled extensively and for the most part exclusively to all inclusive resorts these past ten years. Casa de Celeste Vida totally weaned us from that need and shook us back into the reality of what the true value of travel was meant to be. We have just spent one of the most memorable 2 weeks of hospitality in a... more

We thoroughly recommend Casa de Celeste Vida and we are trying to figure out when we can go back. We cannot thank Karen enough for her generous spirit. We were both inspired by her creativity and energy. Another gem is Casa Peon, a restaurant in town: we had great meals by its fabulous chef and owner, Peter, and we wish... more

This was our second stay at Casa de Celeste Vida and it was great again. This year we were treated to a trip to Kenn and Karen's secret new and fantastic cenote in Achinch (spelling?) and it was fantastic ! We were taken in by a donkey pulling a cart to 3 different locations....a must see trip for sure. Cafe... more

Casa de Celeste Vida offer a bit of everything: Friendly, accommodating & helpful hosts; beautiful location on the beach; clean, modern and very-well-equipped rooms; short walk to a non-touristy Mexican fishing village; great seafood (& meat & some vegetarian dishes) at 6 or 8 restaurants in the town; easy access to natural areas including the winter residence of a thousands-strong... more
