Good location, convenient airport coach pickup, clean interiors, very spacious rooms, great value for the price, book the ferry + hotel package at the Hongkong ferry pier - amazing deals. Beyond my expectations for the price, wasn't expecting something half as nice. Macau's OK for the casino buffs, the Portugese history and culture bit is overhyped - disappointing after doing... more

My husband had a 3 day confrence in macau. and they put us up in this hotel. Not at all impressive.from the check in the staff was very off handish, concidering there were at least 20 rooms booked with the conference they should have given us service with a smile. rooms were small and poky. bathroom was small. It looked untidy... more

This was a wonderful experiance. We´d heard that hotels in Macau are expensive, so instead of trying to get a hostel or something we optioed to accept a bit of an upgrade and see what was the beat deal we could get. we used the website sinohotels and got a great deal here. It is not as big or as... more

We have just returned from Macau, stayed in Rio for 2 nights. At first, we were quite unhappy, as we arrived at about 3.30pm, and the room was not ready, because I had requested for a non-smoking room, seems there is only one level of rooms that is non-smoking. We were asked to return at 4.45pm, but when returned at... more

I have just returned from Macau. Stayed at the Rio Hotel & Casino for 4 nights. Hmnn....The hotel is definitely more then a 4 Star. I t is good, clean and very conveniently located. For Indian's, 2 Indian restaurants are 10-15 mins walking distance away. The only problem is the language barrier, during my stay I could converse in English... more

The room was really nice for the price. Clean, smoke free and the bathroom rocked. I don't really have any complaints about the facilities although it's much smaller than some of the newer casinos in Macau. One thing that you should know before going is that the spa and the club are for men ONLY!!! I didn't realize it at... more

We stayed for one night. We liked the location as it was close to the ferry terminal and there are convenience stores and restaurants nearby. The staff were really nice and helpful - they gave us an upgrade when they realised they couldn't give us a standard non-smoking room! The room and bathroom were huge, modern and clean. Everything was... more

I stayed at the Rio Hotel in Macau with my family last March 2008. At first, I was hesitant to book in Rio because the few reviews that I read here on TripAdvisor kind of made it sound like the Rio was sleazy and dingy. In the end, my Mom was the one who made the decision to book there... more

We stayed at the Rio Hotel during July and found it pretty nice. It tries extremely hard to be an european style hotel- you will see their efforts outside and in the lobby- lots of crown molding, gold, and fancy furniture- but in the end, it's still not the 5 star. Lots of the things of the hotel are nice,... more
