We stayed at the Sofitel for 6 days and were delighted with every aspect of the hotel. There is a casino but it is not intrusive, the restaurants are excellent, rooms very comfortable and the staff cannot do enough for their guests. For a slightly handicapped traveller it was great to have separate toilet and shower bay, For access reasons,... more

There are already quite a number of reviews of this hotel and adding mine would not alter the general reviewer's rating. But I totally agree with them, it's just an average hotel. However, there are a number of points that few mentioned: -- It's located far from city center -- It's located near the slums (but not necessarily unsafe) --... more

My wife and I were in Sofitel at Ponte 16 and loved every minute of it. We arrived on the ferry from HK, a pleasant journey although the passport control in Macau took over an hour. Upon arrival there was a man with a sign with the hotel name on it. We approached him and he carried our bags to... more

My husband and I LOVED Sofitel Macau. It's oppulant with well fitted rooms. In fact, I would say that the bathroom was perfect. If we were ever to design a house, we would design the master bedroom based on our room there. And the bed...we loved that so much that we woke up the next morning half an hour PAST... more

Although the location was not where the other big casinos were, the hotel is fantastic - on the water, near all the tourist attractions - the church, Senato Sq, etc. The people are beautiful, and the egg tarts to die for. The restaurant was fantastic, we had such a great stay. Also, our favourite helpful staff member, Alvin, was so... more

The Sofitel Macau is absolutely the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Luxurious comfortable bed ( especially after the rock-hard beds in China and HK ), gorgeous bathroom and delightful friendly staff. A 5-minute walk from Senado square and handy to buses. The buffet breakfasts and dinner and the room service breakfast were lovely, we could not fault the... more

Pros - Lower price than the bigger hotels, smaller less overwhelming casino (depends on your viewpoint, it was a plus for us), close to "real" Macau and heritage sites. Free shuttle from the Hong Kong ferry, beautiful rooms, super clean. Cons - Far removed from the other casinos, staff not up to the standard of the hotel, expensive $20.00 per... more

We thought the Sofitel was an excellent hotel. The rooms are a good size and very lushly fitted out. The shower was amazing as was the bath that came with an lcd over it. The service at the hotel was very good with the only exception been the restaurant where they seemed to be short staffed. The gym and pool... more

If you want a wonderful room with convenient, low ante gambling, this is the spot. The bigger casinos are a short taxi ride away. The neighborhood surrounding the Sofitel isn't so attractive, but it is easy to escape the neighborhood with a short walk or taxi ride. The rooms were very comfortable. more
