The location of the hotel is really good, it is just a stone throw away from the senado square, its extremely helpful in getting back to the hotel when riding a taxi considering the difficulty of communicating with the locals just mention senado square, there are nearby restos and a mcdonalds cafe at the corner.for the hotel itselfs, its a typical... more

I stayed for 2 nights last weekend. I wasn't able to book before our flight and my only companion was left by our plane from manila. I happen to pass by the hotel and it is the first one i saw after finding out that Grand emperor was fully booked on a saturday. Hotel is very old. Got a standard... more

It's a small hotel and the corridor smelled of smoke but the room itself, though small, was clean. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. I chose it because it was the cheapest place in that general location and I didn't regret it because it was walking distance to most of the tourist attractions. My biggest complaint would be the... more

We were disappointed that we had to wait for the extra bed (triple room), even though we booked in advance and checked in at 9pm at night. Little wonder why they couldn't place the extra bed before we arrived. We were given an voucher to use in downstairs restaurant. But we did not use. Instead we chose to eat in... more

My stay in this hotel was horrible. The room was really dirty there was dust on everything and the carpet had not been vacumed for a while, stains on the bathroom floor and the mirrors. The pillows smelled so bad of 'old man' I had to wrap them in towels. All in all I caould not relax or sleep well... more

This was my second choice after unsuccessfully booking Sintra Hotel, which was more favored by tripadvisor users. Good 1. Location - 5 mins walk to Senado Square. Lots of eateries and shopping. Also near Ruins of St Paul and the fort. About 10 mins walk to Grand Lisboa casino and surrounding casinos like Wynn and Galaxy Starworld. 2. Fairly easy... more

We wanted to stay near the old Portuguese part of Macau, near Senado Square and Ruins of St Paul's but couldn't find any nice hotels around. And didn't want to stay in a casino. On the maps on the internet it looks like casinos like the Grand Lisboa was much further than the Metropole from Senado square, in reality it... more

We arrived in Macau with no hotel reservation, which I now realise is a very foolish thing to do. Hotels get booked up quickly, especially at the weekends when the casinos are rammed with visiting Chinese gamblers. The Metropole had a room, and we said 'yes' straight away, as we feared we may be consigned to the street otherwise. It... more

The Metropole's just some minutes' walk from some of Macau's world heritage sites (eg, Ruins of St Paul and the Senado), shops, restaurants (incl. 2 McDonalds, Pizza Hut), bus stops and casinos. Altho' our 8th floor room faces the main road, it was quiet - just perfect for a good night's rest after long walks around Macau. The front desk... more

Stay in this hotel for 2 nights from 16-18 Aug 2007. Booked this hotel mainly bcos of the price. Was on budget cos decide to set aside more $$ for shopping in HK. The good thing abt this hotel is the location.. Within waliking distance to most of the place of interest. Senado Square is juz behind, Ruins of St... more
