My wife and I spent a week at the Grandview while I was doing some lecturing in Macau, and were quite pleased with the place. Our room (a "superior", which is one step above the run-of-house but one step below the "executive" and suite accommodations) was clean, comfortable, and equipped with good internet access. Beds were super-firm (umm, make that downright hard), but that's how it is in most places there. Staff throughout the hotel were friendly, and most spoke workable English (essential given my language limitations). The neighborhood is safe, lively, and has numerous useful shops and markets; the four-faced Buddha, just opposite the entrance, is worth a thoughtful look too. Two small criticisms of the hotel: the outside of our window had not been washed in some time, so for the first day or so we thought rain was imminent, only to go downstairs and walk out into much brighter weather; and, the casino business has rather pushed the hotel's restaurants into... more
