We have recently come back from Kefalonia and our place of residence being the Asteris apartments in Scala. We flew from Bristol on an early flight which got our holiday literally off to flying start. Arriving mid to later morning we picked up our hire car from the airport and proceeded to drive to Scala. Thanks to directions from fellow... More

We had our second visit to the Asteris in September (first in June) and honestly did not think it could be as good as the first! It was equally as good and probably better! The hotel is situated a little out of Skala town, but the views are spectacular and there is a shuttle bus or taxis if you need... More

We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and it was very quite and relaxing, unfortunately this stay was not, for some reason the bar has pointless music playing from about mid day until 12.30pm / 1.00am, this appears to be for enjoyment of the bar man only, as most of the time the guest had gone to... We visited the Asteris last June with our sons and were very impressed with the hotel and the staff so we decided to visit again this year. It was much quieter in September but on our arrival we were welcomed by Iannis who remembered we had visited last year as a family and told us that we had been upgraded... More

We decided on self catering as we do not like being tied to time and like to eat our meals on the balcony or eat elsewhere if sightseeing. One big error I think in Thomas Cook's brochure is that there is NO mini market on site. Nearest supermarket 4km away, not what you need when you just arrive. However the... More

Went to stay here for a week last week and wow. The place is so tranquil and peaceful and the views are stunning. The food was really good and really enjoyed the pizza and bbq night. Loved the breakfasts as well with nice croissants, plenty of juice and a nice coffee. The staff at the hotel were amazing and nothing... More

The hotel was very clean and we had a wonderful view from our room. However the meals were very poor. We stayed on a half board basis and the menu was extremely limited.Pasta most nights with only one other choice Breakfast was sparse! Tinned peaches every morning, followedm by either scrambled egg or fried egg. The toaster had only two elements... More

Built in 2006 this hotel is made up of some 39 apartment styled rooms. Owned by Costas, a lawyer and former Mayor of Kefalonia, this complex is extremely well laid out. All of the rooms are well equipped with large fridges, microwaves, kettles, satellite tv, hair dryer and air conditioning. There is internet access in the lounge, bar, snack bar... More

We spent 10 days here in a 1 bed apartment. The first impressions are good-the one beds effectively are 2 as the sleeping area off the kitchen diner is completely separate. Balcony was huge. View was stunning. Aircon was great. Standard of accommodation better than I've ever seen in Greece. . The complex is a good size-about 36 apartments, so... More
