This place is mindblowing. It is a rocky outcrop of a private island 4km into the sea from Karwar coast. The island is called Kurumgarh, to indicate that it looks like the back of a tortoise. You walk up onto a plateau where this resort is located. Great food (especially seafood), simple, basic accommodation, and a lovely detachment from the... More

Finally our group, decided to go out to an Island Retreat. This is a true land locked island at Karwar, unlike others. The place itself is quite exclusive, since there is no other establishment apart from the resort itself. As we arrived, the resort boat took us to the island, a nice journey of around 1/2 hr to reach the... More

It's kuramghad! Shape of tortoise! Wonderful tents! Watch stars. Go fishing. Witness dolphin dance. Take a swig of beer. Good food. Lovely natural surroundings. Almost in the lap of mother Nature! I love this place. Enjoy a little trekking. Snorkelling too!waaaaaaah!

My First advise would be don't go by their website, you would be disappointed to know not all specified on the website are available. i stayed here for 3 days between Dec 23 till 25 2013. i actually drove down to karwar all the way from Bangalore, as soon as i entered their Jetty was much more excited to reach... •Location – 3/5 – far, far away from everything. Yet accessible from Bangalore, by overnight bus to Karwar and then by boat to the island from the jetty.. Expect to reach not before 9 a.m. •Ambience – 5/5 – rustic, warm, sultry charm of being on a tropical island, can’t complain at all.. •Cleanliness –4/5 – averagely kept place, becomes... More

We went here for day trip. The boat to take to island was very average one. The food was very average. Tent was just ok. Island out self is good. We missed dolphin ride. You should be there before 10 am to go for dolphin ride. Later they won't be visible. It should not be windy for dolphins to come... More

This is a nice place for a vacation, although a bit of a drive from Bangalore (11 hours). We stayed at a cottage which was well maintained, however, it gets really hot in the day (no AC, the whole resort runs in a generator and they turn off the power every once in a while). The beach is nice but... More
