This is a beautiful place to visit, and great for families. Snorkeling and fishing is great. The food is good -- but the hotel does not really offer any decent snacks. Bring a bunch. Take a detour to the island of frigatebirds on your way to or from the island.

Doing a familiarization trip considering properties for women's group tours, this was recommended by our travel designer. OMG. Simple. Authentic. Non-commercial. Paradise. Our approach by the boat from Dangriga told us immediately we were about to touch land in paradise. Our boat ride over was pretty wet because the waters were choppy so be prepared just in case. Rain ponchos... More

Our stay at Pelican Beach was fantastic. The entire staff was great particularly Leonard. He saw to everything we needed and was great with post dinner conversation on the breezy deck lit by tiki torches and candle light. Every meal was delicious with fantastic local flavor: think lobster, cassava pudding, fresh baked goods and fruits. The accommodations were good with... More

Difficult to describe this place in words. This place is magnificent. The resort is perfectly low key and eco-friendly - if it were any more luxurious it would take away from the terrific natural beauty of the beach and island. The resort is covered in perfect white sand, and you can walk barefoot everywhere you go. The palm trees sway... More

After our 2013 stay, we raved to our friends and family about SWC. So much so, my sister and her husband committed to accompanying us in 2014. We were very happy to assist them in making arrangements. They had little experience with 'off the beaten path' traveling. And, we have earned our lessons the hard way. Main lesson for us:... More

After 4 nights in a jungle lodge, the ocean at Pelican Beach was the perfect end to our time in Belize. The cabins are lovely with great views, ceiling fans, and a cross breeze. The staff are delightful; attentive and very capable. I recommend talking the kitchen into letting you share the Belize dishes that they make for staff. I... More

I just got back from Pelican Beach Resort South Water Caye and it was very nice. The people were extremely nice and very attentive to any need you might have. I was solo, so it was a bit of a different experience. Eating alone was a bit uncomfortable, but that was due to my choice of going alone. To be... More

As long as they'll have us, we can afford it and are fit to travel, we'll return to Pelican Beach. My husband and I find ourselves in a balanced state of bliss here. We feel warmly embraced by the island, the ocean, and the terrific team of people (seen and behind the scenes) who work hard to create an aura... More

This was our 3rd stop on our trip organised perfectly by Naturally Belize. The boat trip was a bit rough going to the Caye but we survived. We were met by Mr Leonard and given our room - Herons Hideaway. A lovely little cottage on it's own. We saw the Herons every morning. The food was perfect. Menu was posted... More

If you love the beach--with snorkeling, with sea kayaking, with deep-sea fishing, with excursions to a nearby Smithsonian ocean research facility, with superb food freshly prepared and unpretentious but perfectly clean and comfortable lodging, with friendly and knowledgeable staff--this is the place for you. If I could figure out how never to leave, I would. In a heartbeat. That said,... More
