2 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We just spent 2 days on the island (my elderly husband, my 15-year old son, and myself). We were very disappointed by the basic accommodation - our supposed 'suite' for which we paid extra was an ugly room with no chairs (let alone armchairs) and not enough space to hang our clothes; and was cold, with no heating, despite the... Have just spent 6 days on Lady Elliot Island and found it a fantastic place to relax and unwind and enjoy the natural environment of this place. It is certainly not a 5 star resort in the usual sense with luxurious accommodation, spas and boutiques however it does offer amazing coral reefs, sea life, bird life, night skies, peace and... More

This island is magical. The staff is pretty nice. Food is acceptable. Lodgings are pleasant with really nice linens, good water pressure. We were there for five nights, six days at the end of July 2014. Luggage weight limits–the weight limit for luggage on the flight to the island is crazy small (10kg/22lbs), but you can pay $100 for an... More

Just spent 4 nights there. This simple eco-resort meets the mark in so many ways. First I describe the accommodations, then the snorkelling. There is only one place to stay and eat (etc) on the island, so the fact that (1) its food is healthy and varied is important, as is the fact that (2) the accommodations are comfortable (if... More

Dear eastcoaster4 Thank you for your kind word about your recent stay on Lady Elliot Island. Please accept our sincere apologies about not being able to order the soup from the buffet, we have raised your concern with our Head Chef. As you mentioned, guests have two choices for lunch, either a buffet or café meal. The Café offers a... More

This is an amazing place that should be on any travellers bucket list, we stayed for two days at this treasure of the Southern Great Barrier Reef. The staff are amazing, their love, knowledge and passion for the local environment is only seconded by what must surely be one of Earths great treasures. Snorkelling with Manta Rays, Turtles and an... More

If your looking for great diving, snorkeling, excellent service and peace you'll find it on LEI and a whole lot more. I've always wanted to dive the GBR and had hoped LEI would be the place to get my Advance Open Water certificate and to get help getting past some issues that had made diving less than fun. I decided... More

Another excellent stay at LEI. Went for the diving and as usual it did not disappoint, I highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the Barrier Reef. Fantastic to see that the communal areas have been / are being refurbished around the resort, and that the "eco" message and projects are still ongoing. A shining example of how other... More

This is a must-do for anyone who is in to scuba diving and snorkelling. I enjoyed the scuba diving as we saw manta rays, turtles, large schools of fish and got to listen to the whale songs for the whole underwater experience. Snorkelling in the lagoon was by far the best experience. The water was crystal clear and without the... More

LEI is stunning, a small and beautiful island 80kms off Hervey Bay. We had a perfect time even though our weather was less than good. Snorkelling with mantra rays was the highlight and the Lagoon reef with its turtles and glorious coloured fish was another treat. The Eco Cabins are nice and low key, as is the whole resort. All...
