Lady Elliot has gone to the birds, the turtles, the manta rays and all the rest of the wonderful critters in and out of the water- in the nicest possible way! I will leave the accommodation descriptions to others, I stayed in an Eco Cabin (a tent really) and didn't see much beyond that. The resort was well maintained, noticeably... More

We spent two nights on LEI, with two on Fraser Island, as part of the Reef & Rainforest package booked though LEI reservations. The reservation process was handled efficiently, and the whole package including flights, ferry and transfers went like clockwork. The 'scenic flight' from Hervey Bay lived up to its billing, with terrific views of LEI before landing; welcome,... More

We love lady elliot island. The magic that is turtle season can't be beaten. The resort does a great job maintaining it's Eco status, however I believe that for the price the food could be better (appeal to a wide range of people) and the Eco tents should be upgraded to include an ensuite like Heron island or they should... Lady Elliot Island was far and away the highlight of my time in Australia. The staff at Lady Elliot get it. Even when I had to change my plane departure location a few times they were always able to accommodate. They know what the customer wants and provides it. From the moment you step off the plane they are there... More

From the moment you get get off the plane at Lady Elliott you feel the 'Eco' vibe. This place is a true island paradise but if you are looking for 5 star, move on. On the other hand if you appreciate wildlife, both land and sea based,in a truly natural protected environment keep reading. Our accommodation was a modest bungalow... More

Thanks to Nikki, Chris, Phill, Ben and Tanya. We had great diving, snorkelling and walks on the island. We loved the food especially when Jim was leading the team. It felt wonderful to learn about the turtles and birds and how to protect them. Congratulations LEI on winning the 2014 Tourism award as it is well deserved. We stayed in... More

No phone. No internet. Pure bliss on this resort that is eco-extraordinaire. We stayed in the very comfortable beachfront island suites and didn't need the air con because of the delightful sea breezes. The snorkelling off the beach was magical. We saw sharks, turtles, a giant moray eel, big groupers and an assortment of colourful reef fish. The buffet meals... More

I have loved every visit I've had to the southern-most island of the Great Barrier Reef - it has amazing wildlife - birds, manta rays, sharks galore, turtles, loads of fish and beautiful coral. The two sides of ocean activities mean that you can get into the water anytime you like and see amazing things. the lagoon has sustained some... More

We won travel money and for part of our trip we decided to stay at LEI with our two kids (7yo and 5yo). I was a bit nervous about it, as our travel agent had not heard of LEI, and I happened upon it after doing a bit of research. We are a New Zealand family who enjoy the outdoors,... More

If you only ever stay in pampered luxury, then you may not like Lady Elliot. The accomodation, though perfectly adequate for an isolated island (we stayed in a Reef Lodge) is fairly basic, but clean and in an unspoilt environment. Food is just ordinary canteen style, though the breakfast spread was decent. Everything else was just excellent: snorkelling right off... More
