This is an amazing place that should be on any travellers bucket list, we stayed for two days at this treasure of the Southern Great Barrier Reef. The staff are amazing, their love, knowledge and passion for the local environment is only seconded by what must surely be one of Earths great treasures. Snorkelling with Manta Rays, Turtles and an... More

If your looking for great diving, snorkeling, excellent service and peace you'll find it on LEI and a whole lot more. I've always wanted to dive the GBR and had hoped LEI would be the place to get my Advance Open Water certificate and to get help getting past some issues that had made diving less than fun. I decided... More

Another excellent stay at LEI. Went for the diving and as usual it did not disappoint, I highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the Barrier Reef. Fantastic to see that the communal areas have been / are being refurbished around the resort, and that the "eco" message and projects are still ongoing. A shining example of how other... More

This is a must-do for anyone who is in to scuba diving and snorkelling. I enjoyed the scuba diving as we saw manta rays, turtles, large schools of fish and got to listen to the whale songs for the whole underwater experience. Snorkelling in the lagoon was by far the best experience. The water was crystal clear and without the... More

LEI is stunning, a small and beautiful island 80kms off Hervey Bay. We had a perfect time even though our weather was less than good. Snorkelling with mantra rays was the highlight and the Lagoon reef with its turtles and glorious coloured fish was another treat. The Eco Cabins are nice and low key, as is the whole resort. All... I came here in July 2013 (Tripadvisor wouldn't let me go back to then) all by myself and enjoyed every minute of it. The flight to the island is really nice, and the welcome on arrival is good. The amount of wildlife you can see is just wow, I swam with turtles, manta rays, think I saw a shark and... More

I recently visited Lady Elliot Island, this was my fourth visit and will not be my last. I feel in love with the island about 3-4 years ago. I have visited the island with just my mum, with a group of girls and with my partner and all trips have been amazing. The island is very basic, what you see... More

Lady Elliot is a small coral cay island that can be circumnavigated on foot in about 45 minutes. The resort is not new but is very well maintained and looked after. I had Reef unit accommodation and this was basic but very comfortable with private facilities. Meals are buffet style (option at lunch), more than adequate with abundant choice. You... More

A spectacular place with so much wildlife and a very well-run eco resort. I wish more resorts were as eco-centric as this one. Would absolutely love to come again. Photos and a more in depth review here: http://underwaterasian.blogspot.sg/2014/07/lady-elliot-island.html
