We left the main land in a small eight seater plane on a very wet and windy day on the Gold Coast. After a couple of hours we started to descend and the island came into view, what a fantastic sight. After a bumpy landing we were shown to our rooms ,we upgraded to the sea view which I would strongly recommend .The... We stayed in suite 5 overlooking the lagoon with our two teenage boys for three nights and wished we had booked for longer!! A really amazing experience! We did the trial scuba dive and wished we had booked this for day one as we could only do the one dive ( not able to dive on the same day as... More

We went to LEI for a one day trip from Hervey Bay. It was an amazing day from start to finish. We had such a beautiful scenic flight on the way out stopping at Bundaberg too - then we saw whales from above and our pilot circled round them for us. We landed at LEI and were met by Ben... More

After travelling to Port Douglas and Cairns, I always thought that the Great Barrier Reef was overrated. Lady Elliott proved me wrong. Upon first glance of the island, we had a glimpse of the large extent of the reef and its wide biodiversity; already spotted turtles and rays from up above! A brief island tour was given, providing info about... More

We chose Lady Elliot because it was a low key "eco resort" and because we could snorkel straight off the beach amongst reef fish. What we also discovered as a bonus was being able to snorkel with the most beautiful manta rays, watch whales from the cafe, get up close to turtles and learn about nature and the islands history... Friendly and helpful staff. Go out of their way to help and make your stay awesome. Simple accomodation, clean and sufficient. Good food (included our package - carribean chicken a favourite). Dive masters fantastic, and probably best dive/ snorkel site in Australia. On a 3 day stay - 4 manta rays, a couple of reef sharks, heaps of green turtles,... More

My husband and I decided to try Lady Elliott Island with kids (ages 8 and 10) as the reef walks and "wade-in" snorkeling seemed like a good way to introduce them to snorkeling (less daunting than jumping off a boat). LEI met all expectations! The diving for my husband was spectacular. The snorkeling for me and the girls was easy... More

Our family has just returned from a 5 night stay on Lady Elliot Island (LEI). Since we got home my husband and I have been busy dreaming up ways we could sell the house and move the family over there, yep easy, we could work on the island and the kids could do school by correspondence.....ahh what a life it... We had an amazing week on Lady Elliot. The diving and snorkeling were just magical! The accommodation and food were excellent and the service was brilliant. The various educational presentations were interesting and informative. The various tours of the island that were available were very well conducted and enjoyable. I will be back for sure. :-)

We have just returned home after 8 days on Lady Elliot Island. It is absolutely stunning. The staff are fantastic. Nothing is too much to ask and they definitely go out of their way to make sure you get everything out of your stay. Renee behind the bar, Nick at the dive shop, Lisa and Ben on the snorkel safari...
