Staying at Lady Elliot is a unique way to visit the Great Barrier Reef. The snorkeling and diving are incredible, the staff is really friendly and it is apparent how much they love what they do. We found the food to be good considering how far we were from the mainland. Although it was basic, the reef unit room we... More

We heard about Lady E from locals who were all emphatic that we should go. It seems a bit pricey at first because you have to fly there which costs $279 before you start. However it is worth it! There is nothing like being able to snorkel whenever you want just by walking off the beach. The resort is really... More

A unique island 80kms off the east coast of Australia, on the Great Barrier Reef. It's an eco-resort where nature and wildlife have right of way and humans are welcome but have to behave appropriately. The resort is unpretentious, low-key and comfortable. Food is excellent with fresh vegetables, fruit and delicious choices at the buffet lay-out (everything has to be... More

Fantastic diving and snorkelling! You don't need to be experienced or even swim well as the reef outside the resort is shallow. Very casual, only need bikini, sarong, reef shoes, thongs and a cool dress/shorts for dining room. Food is amazing (buffet style). Beware the birds! They're everywhere and noisy - take ear plugs for sleeping. Drinking water is desalinated... More

I had such an awesome time. This was the best vacation EVER. I spent a week here with my SO and loved every single minute of it. After traveling around the world for a year with my SO, it is nice to cap it off in this hometown resort. Love it!! Do it! You won't regret it!

Don't ever forget that this is an Eco resort which means you won't get air con and some other mod cons (like phone signal) but this is what it's all about. We went for a friend's 50th Birthday celebration and stayed five nights and we had a wonderful time. The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to... More

LEI was a great place to spend 7 nights. We stayed in the Eco cabins (tents). They were basic but clean and comfortable. The communal bathroom facilities were always very clean, I was impressed. The food was adequate, it wasn't 5 star cuisine but we ate very well. We went scuba diving across three days. We had Nikki as our... More

We stayed for 5 nights in March - near the end of the bird breeding season, though there were still thousands of birds (noddies, terns, frigatebirds, rails etc) , including some babies. We were in a Reef Unit and the room was clean and comfortable, though the bed was not the best and gave us very sore backs. No aircon... More

I stayed here for 5 nights in February and it was amazing. I can't wait to return for another visit. The staff were always smiling, very friendly and knowledgable of the island. We had a garden view room and I would say it was in an ideal position and even had an ocean view. The rooms were clean, tidy and... More

Thoroughly enjoyable week spent in garden unit on Lady Elliott. Snorkelling was magnificent. Staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Food was terrific breakfast and dinner included. Plenty to do- wildlife above and below the water wonderful to view and interact with.
