The Polidora is an amazing place in a superb location. It has beautiful and extensive park like gardens with many rare trees and a private shore on Lake Maggiore. The accommodation is excellent and it we felt honoured to have had the entire place to ourselves - apart from sharing it for a couple of nights with the owner GianLuca.... More

This B&B lived up to all our expectations. High quality accomodation in a beautiful park beside Lake Maggiore. Plenty to do and see around the lake but well worth spending a day just relaxing and swimming in the park and chilling in Cerro. But the best thing was the hospitality shown by the owner Gianluca and the manager Giulia.

It was an extraordinary experience, to be alone by the shores of Lago Maggiore in these beautiful gardens of this very elegant home. We sat on the grass by the lakeshore listening to the water lapping on the beach, enjoying an experience normally only reserved for the very wealthy owners of the villas that surround the lakeside. We met the... More

Completely agree with the positive reviews on here. My daughter would have been happy to spend the whole holiday just roaming around the grounds. Lovely variety of trees; amazing private beach down at the lake; views as described. Shame that we managed somehow to never be at the B&B for sunset, so will have to come back. Met one of... More

The location is just stunning. The villa is a masterpiece and the landscape makes it worthy to be mentioned in the UNESCO listing. The owner is incredibly kind and the manager, a newly hired 20yo girl named Giulia is very sweet and helpful. Nothing to say about the overall quality of the stay, which was unforgettable. A very weak point... More

Sometimes you really don't appreciate how wonderful a place will be until you get there. We were bowled over by the magnificent gardens leading down to the lake with its fabulous magnolia trees in full bloom and the backdrop of the snow capped mountains in the distance. Julia looked after us beautifully. She speaks French and some English too. She... More

This was by far one of the most beautiful places I've been to in terms of surroundings. Not only is it right on the lake but the views of the Alps are outstanding. The house itself is beautiful. As we were there as a family, we took up all the rooms and had it to ourselves. We felt extremely comfortable.... More

You couldn't find a more beautiful & peaceful location from which to explore Lake Maggiore. The super garden is right on the shore of the lake - we started & finished each day with a swim. One day we just stayed by the lake all day. The breakfasts were delicious, with fresh greengages & walnuts from the garden and freshly... More

We loved the location, the garden is wonderful and the beach, shaded by swamp cypresses, is delightful. We just sat on the beach and stared at the view of Stresa and the Isole Boromee, with the Alps behind, breathtaking, we even swam although the water was a bit "refreshing". Our bedroom was clean and comfortable, with luxurious linens, and separate... More

dear Samscram, thanks for your comments, that's how we learn and hopefully improve. We do have a help-yourself corner in the breakfast area for tea and coffee. Our staff fault, if she did not show it to you or made it available. I will tell our staff that this is important to our Customers. -GianLuca More

Our expectations of the Polidora B&B were high after reading the reviews but I must admit I was disappointed not with the location or the beautiful grounds but with the accommodation and lack of facilities for example no full length mirror in room or tea or coffee facilities . The breakfast was poor ,stale bread rolls and burnt croissants on... More

dear Amanda, I am very sorry to read that your experience with Polidora was poor. Roberta, who was in charge of your breakfast at the time of your visit, is very keen on making pies and muffins, which look almost professional. I do not know what went wrong, but we'll do our best to improve the breakfast. About our doggies,... More
