We visited Mandello del Lario so my husband could visit the Moto Guzzi Museum. We loved this B&B, perched above the town, where we stayed for 2 nights along with another couple. The rooms are well-furnished and comfortable and the adjoining bathroom was great. There is a large, comfortable "common room" downstairs where we could sit and play cards with... More

We stayed here in Sept 2013 and it was absolutely fantastic. We arrived quite late in the evening as we were driving in from Monaco and when we arrived we were given some snacks to take to our room as everywhere was shut, the hosts also own the restaurant which is attached, we ended up eating in there for 3... Tower of Barbarossa My wife and I had a delightful stay at the Bed & Breakfast. We were initially disappointed because what was shown on the website was the home of the owners. However, once we settled in our room, it became apparent that a lot of time and money had been invested to improve the B&B and the entire... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely B&B earlier this month. The rooms are very nice, clean and well presented. As well as the lovely rooms the attached bar and restaurant offers great local food and wine as well. The hosts just couldn't be more helpful, running us down the train station and offering to pick us up again... More

The combination of great hosts and excellent food made this place memorable and relaxing. Really enjoyed our time here - give it a shot if you're in the area! We booked it for the accommodation, but discovered that there is an excellent little restaurant owned by the same family attached to this property, as well as a coffee bar and... More

After traipsing through Italy - visiting Venice, Florence, Sienna, Milan, and Lugano (Switzerland)...we found ourselves at this medieval village overlooking Lake Como. Walking around the village is a Game of Thrones type of experience. It's just charming beyond belief - but to be in an authentic family-based B&B/restaurant with a 1000-year-old watchtower? Put it all together and you just can't... More

Ok..... Yes..... It is hard to find..... But WHAT a find! If we could live there I would in a heart beat!!! We got very lost trying to find it... We were tired and like cranky kids....and we finally stopped by a motorcycle shop ( yeah... Our comfort zone!!) to ask directions. That's another GREAT story but one of the... More

Stayed here with my family in the fall. It is located in a small village up the hill from lake como. It is run by a very friendly Italian family (English speaking). They have wonderfully restored an old Italian building, turning it into a modern, classic B&B. I would definitely recommend the stay here and plan on going back anytime... More

We were unaware our accommodation was up a windy hill in a small village above Mandello Del Lario. No matter. Our wonderful host Julianna and her daughter picked us up, drove us back down, worried we might not get the taxi back and drove us back to the station when we left. Beautiful location up the hill, comfy beds and... More

My partner and I spent our last three nights of a 2 week holiday in the Lake Como area at this absolutely fantastic B&B. Family run, beautifully appointed and a lovely restful place to spend a few days. Maggiana is a tiny little village up the hill from Mandello del Lario so we would recommend having a car but there...
