On a recent trip to Italy with family, we opted to stay in Brunate instead of Como for the few nights we were in the lakes area. We selected Locanda Milano based on reviews, price and availability. We were glad that we did. My wife and I got the room with the terrace leading out from the bathroom. We were... More

We want to say a big thankyou to Roberto and the other staff who came to our rescue when we got into trouble on the road (Our van was much too big for those conditions but we didn't realise that until it was too late!) If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Como we're sure you will be... More

We enjoyed staying at this property very much. We drove from the Milan airport and had a GPS unit which made the ascent to Brunate easier. One thing we found is to beep before the switchback turn if you are driving to alert any oncoming traffic approaching that you may not be able to see because of the sharp curves.... More

After traveling around Europe for 3 months this was by far the best hotel yet. Peaceful location on top of the mountain overlooking the beautiful lake, brilliant customer service (friendly and felt very welcome), very clean rooms, an amazing free buffet breakfast and a great holiday away from a holiday! Keep up the good work! Jordan and Hannah from Australia!

Stayed here for the first time several years ago, because we left the booking late and couldn't get a hotel in Como at a decent price. Stayed here this time as our first choice, and will certainly do so again. The location is great, 7 minutes from the centre of Como via the funicular, but in a quiet, atmospheric village,... More

Went for a two night break with the family and had a very nice time. It is on the hillside above Como within easy reach of the town and lake shore. We ordered a family room (for 4) but they made a mistake and instead offered us two doubles right beside each other which worked out very well. This is... More

Access to Brunate is via a steep, narrow & winding (but sealed) road that takes you up to a spectacular location high above the sprawling & busy city of Como. Once up there, access down to the city and lake is easy via the funicular which stops near the hotel. Apart from the pedestrianised centre of the old town I... More

If you would like to enjoy some great hospitality and food in a quiet town - try this lovely, family run hotel. We loved coming in from a walk in the afternoon and joining the locals around the TV and family table in the bar. We noticed that the bar crowd is there for lunch and dinner so if you... More

We spent 3 nights here late September '12. Flew into Bergramo and got train up to Como. We found that the hotel was far more cost effective than staying in Como - thought we would kind of take a hit by being out of the town but in the end we were really glad we stayed up in Brunate. Not... More

I stayed for 3 nights in September. This place is more of a b&b than a hotel but I really felt at home. The staff were very welcoming, the room was basic but very clean, though you might find the en suite a little cramped. The road up from Como may be a bit of a white-knuckle ride if you're... More
