As a guest with limited mobility, this 10 day stay was perfect. From the sunny smile of the beautiful Cornelia at breakfast to the wonderful, helpful Fabio and all the great ladies on reception, they were so friendly efficient and made my stay a real pleasure. Add in the great location, my top floor room with balcony (well worth it!)... More

Stayed 2 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Room was good size and enjoyed magnificent views up and down Lake Maggiore. Lots of good restaurant within walking distance as is the ferry pier where you can ferries up down and across the lake (fast service to Stresa is one hour - 09:15 down 17:15 back) No parking allowed outside the... We stayed at the Cannobio for four nights in June to celebrate my 65th birthday. I chose this hotel over the Pironi mainly because it had full-on lake views, and partly because they responded more quickly to my enquiry! Having now seen the location of both, I was happy with my choice. The staff are very welcoming and helpful and... More

Had lunch on terrace on lake - lobster pasta. Complained that lobster claw not cooked, lobster meat mushy so probably not cooked or not defrosted properly. Head waiter whisked dishes away but then nothing. Nothing taken off bill so complained and said we expected an apology as minimum and price taken off bill. He told us that only happens in... More

I spent here the weekend of my wedding anniversary. The hotel is in the center, it's very beautiful and very typical, our room had a fantastic view on the lake and the city center. In the hotel you can have your breakfast inside the hotel or outside, in for to of the lake...amazing!

Returning to the hotel Cannobio always marks the start or the finish of our Italian holidays, so is very special. Cannobio itself is about two kilometres inside Italy on the shore of lake Maggiore, so crossing the border from Switzerland is also special. This is a grand, old hotel on the Lake shore with comfortable rooms, an excellent restaurant and... More

Cannobio is, in my view, the best little town in lake Maggiore. The main reason is that the main road is further up and the main village, including the lungolago, is mostly pedestrian. The hotel has a superb location, facing the lake in south part of the pedestrian walk on the lake. It is at a short walking distance from... More

Liked it so much last year, we booked again. Never disappointed by this hotel. Courteous helpful service by all of the staff from the manager to the maids, especially Marianna at the front desk and wonderful Cornelia in the breakfast room. Speaking of breakfast, still the best included with room breakfast we have had in 15 years of traveling in... More

The people who own this hotel are dishonest. In our booking confirmation email, I was told that all the rooms come with wifi connection. This is a lie. I complained about this on day one, a Friday, and was told that i could not move until after the weekend. On the Monday, I repeated that I wanted to move and... More

Cannobio is a gem of a place on the Northern end of Lake Maggiore. It is a town with several ancient buildings adding to the charm of its setting. The hotel is on the lake next to the Lungolago, the central piazza. We were given a corner 3rd floor room with views from 2 double windows. The front desk lady... More
