Hotel Cannero really is as good as the reviews say. We stayed here for two weeks at the beginnig of September & whilst it would have been wonderful to have a had a room with a lake view, our room at the rear of the hotel overlooking a quiet lane was absolutely fine. From the moment that we arrived we... More

Hotel Cannero was our first stop in Italy after one night in Milan. We were pleasantly surprised when our taxi pulled up outside this lovely old hotel, overlooking Lake Maggiore. The staff were welcoming and helpful and showed us to our rooms which were spacious and clean. My husband and I decided we would like a room with a balcony... More

We have stayed at this hotel 4 times now since 2007. We love the intimate feel, the friendly staff and the superb location on the lake. Like other reviewers, we book the airport transfer with the hotel (upfront of our stay), as you do not need a car, if you are happy to visit neighbouring resorts on the boat. Rafael,... More

Hotel Cannero is a family-run establishment, providing great accommodation, good food, friendly and efficient staff, superb service, and a gorgeous location: on the edge of Lake Maggiore right by the ferry landing stage, easy striking distance from a number of major tourist spots, and a few miles from the Swiss border. Our room was a bit small, up in the... More

You really do know you are on holiday when you find yourself eating your breakfast beside a lake on a sunny, bright morning. This is the epitome of relaxation. A family-run hotel, excellent staff, fantastic food all set in a magnificent location. Boats to take you up/down Lake Maggiore stop right in front of the hotel - it's such a... More

This was our third visit to Hotel Cannero in the lovely little village of Cannero Riviera on Lake Maggiore. If you have never visited Lake Maggiore then you must! Like all the Italian lakes it is very beautiful with the added attraction of the various islands that can be visited by the boat service. Once again we were enchanted by... More

One of the best hotels I know. Have stayed here four times and hope to visit again. Perfect position on the lake, everything immaculate inside and out. Beautiful terraces and a lovely swimming pool. This family owned and run hotel is full of charm and character in the best sense. I really cannot recommend it highly enough, it is THE... More

They gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and the lakeside view from our room lived up to our expectations. There was no point in eating out because the food was excellent. With a water bus right outside it was also a good starting point for sightseeing. One thing worth bearing in mind is the frequent bus service from... More

This is a family run hotel and it shows in the care they take. The buildings have been updated and maintained to keep and enhance them. The care taken by the family and their architect to get the detail right makes this a very different hotel. The staff were all cheerful and happy to help, making the stay very pleasant.... More

The hotel is very elegant and the staff quite accommodating. It felt as if we were sent back in time to a by gone era yet we had all of the modern creature comforts at our disposal. I really enjoyed the view from the balcony. Also, the town is so quiet and quaint. It surely beats out Stresa-ful Stresa and... More
