This is a family run establishment and it shows with family run service. The same person who got our luggage, was our waiter in the dining room, and helped in the bar. In fact many of the same people seemed to be doing multiple jobs, always with a smile and dedication to service. The current owner and matron greeted us... More

Visited Lake Maggiore for the weekend travelling from St.Jean in Switzerland. A delightful hotel in an ideal setting. Comfortable room, excellent service, friendly welcoming staff wonderful food. Just one problem we were only there for one night.Have since discovered that friends have stayed on more than one occasion and thoroughly enjoyed their stay.We would certainly stay again if visiting the... The plaques at the entrance of this hotel with recommendations, among many others, from the Rolls Royce Enthusiast and German Doctors Automobile clubs suggest a discerning clientele and Signora Gallinotto, whose family has owned and managed the Cannero hotel since 1902, is rightly proud of her Michelin three red houses which promise (and deliver) a stylish building of historical interest... We stayed here as part of a walking holiday around Lake Maggiore so we had 2 other hotels to compare it with. We preferred the other hotels that we stayed at in Orta and Stresa. This hotel is great at what it does - which is provide old fashioned good service to older clientele. Nothing wrong with that but not... More

Gorgeous hotel. Beautiful building. Super views across to Luino on the other side of Lago Maggiore. Boats up and down and across the lake dock right in front of the hotel, which means you can travel around without the car for your holiday. Food is wonderful. Rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. Lovely, relaxed, atmosphere brought about through discrete service.... More

We have stayed at Hotel Cannero several times since 1997, and found it always welcoming and comfortable. It's a joy to wake up early and watch the place come to life; the ferry port right opposite the front verandah provides endless interest and opportunity for people-watching. Sadly it has lost some of the very personal appeal over the years as... More

This beautiful old hotel has been run by the same family for decades and these lovely people make every guest feel one of the family. I have not previously experienced such a genuinely warm welcome at any lodging place anywhere else in the world. However, this is Italy, of course, and Italians are generous - hearted people. My five days... More

OK, I won't spend time repeating all the accolades you see on the other reviews, except to say that they are all true. We had a junior suite overlooking the lake and celebrated my wife's birthday in their restaurant...having an absolutely wonderful meal. The entire staff was gracious and helpful. The owner sent 2 glasses of prosecco to our table... More

On the recommendation of old British friends, my wife and I from the U.S. spent three days at this beautiful hotel on Lago Maggiore in August. We loved it all - perfect location on the lake with no traffic noise; old-style service; an excellent spacious room with a drop-dead view onto the lake from its private terrace. Only complaints are... More

We have just stayed at Hotel Cannero for 4 days. It is, as all the reviews have said, an amazingly great place to stay. Its greatest plus is the wonderful atmosphere provided by the staff. Thanks Raffaele and all the other staff for your hospitality and warmth. Although the weather was not great and we were rained out one day,... More
