This was one of the highlights of our tour of Chile: to star gaze. We stayed in one of "chalets" but found it very basic and unclean mostly. We stayed only two nights - and that is enough. The cleanliness is poor - stained shower cubicle, dead insect attracting swams of ants, stain on the sheet. Mangy blankets underneath the... More

We stayed here for one night as a birthday treat to my girlfriend and were bitterly disappointed. The Hotel is hugely overpriced for what you get. Yes, the domes are a unique experience, but ours was in desperate need of maintenance. We were the only people staying here, yet they put us in a dome where the zip on the... More

This 'hotel' can best be described as luxury camping, which I mean as a compliment. The domes are a unique way to feel 'outside' of a building but in the comfort of 'inside'. The concept is great and they executed the concept well. The bed was very comfortable with adequate blankets (it gets cold at night) and the dome's lounge... More

We drove to the Elqui Valley from Santiago and took our time looking around. We were excited to stay at such an unusual location. We arrived in the early afternoon and were kindly welcomed. The domo was beautiful, clean and so warm. This was mid fall and the outside was crispy cold; but the domo was welcoming and warm. I... More

We were hesitant to book the domes after reading a lot of less than positive reviews but we were very happy with our stay. The beds were comfy, the domes amazing (but simple so don't expect luxury), the staff were friendly and the food was great. We loved our stay and wished our budget allowed for more than just two... It is totally a beautiful and different place. It is a little pricey but well worth the price for the view of the desert in the morning and the star tour at night. Very basic. Luxury camping really Beautiful, peaceful, friendly, pretty, and absolutely delicious healthy food. I gave it a four for the basic accommodation.

We stayed 4 nights and had a great time, though probably 4 nights is 1 too many if you want to get to know the valley. The stars at night were spectacular, the domes were fully equipped, though make sure you ask for extra blankets as it got cold at night even in the summer. The breakfast was also excellent,... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

We had 5 nights of great weather, clear skies and nice summer temperatures in the Dome with a very comfortable bed open to the stars all night. That was a delight. My wife enjoyed the massages and I was up at the observatory each night with my binoculars and camera. The included observatory session was very good and geared to... More

We didn´t expect anything fancy, and read all the reviews well, and were still disappointed.. The place is very much in need of some updating (paint jobs, decking of the only two year old houses, etc.) and some general TLC to the entire place. The general area for example has one sofa only, so not an inviting place to sit... More

I don't even want to write this review because I want Valle de Elqui to stay the beautiful secret that it is. But…I'll be the bigger person and tell you all about it: Do make some time to explore the village. It is magical, and could very well be one of the most energetically charged places I've ever known. Everyone... More
