My friend and I made the unfortunate mistake of booking Lac Des Roches for a week in July. This so called "resort" was a nightmare! We booked a two bedroom cabin that sleeps 6 people. As soon as we checked in...the owner was charging me an extra 10 dollars per person and it was only me and my friend...so the... more

this resort is really nothing Fancy.....grass needs cutting, firepits cleaned out, area around pits raked and tidyed up, boat launch very unsteady, garbage and broken chairs around, VERY EXPENSIVE, appliances in rooms do not work, toilet seat split, no parking...overall more TLC in appearance and maintenance needed, painting and repairs. We made the best out of our stay but never... more

It's a fishing resort so of course you're not going to get a 4 star place but at least have working appliances (our oven didn't work) and all the necessary cutlery and dishes if you are advertising that (there were no forks and only 1 plate). And because of the non-working appliance we thought we should get some sort of... more

Be warned that this business operates with questionable business practices and you should be very cautious if you deal with them. The Manager of this resort retained a $180.00 reservation deposit charged to our Visa card despite the fact that we cancelled our reservation well within the time frame specified in their cancellation policy which was 45 days. They took... more

This place should be called last resort, as just about everybody who was staying there couldn't find any where else on the long weekend. The worst thing about the cabins is the toilet is in the kitchen closet, the sink is in the bed room, and the shower is in another closet. It is put together with the cheapest scraps... more

After reviewing their web site we booked a 10 day vacation. The cabin we chose was the "Honeymoon" cabin. Their web site opens with the sounds of birds signing away in the background. Their web site also leads you to believe that this is a peaceful place tucked away in the wilderness and that it is a 4.5 Hr. drive... more

We had a family reunion planned. Told it would be held at this resort, booked our room / cabin and needed to cancel. Booked the room 3 weeks before we had to be there but our moving from BC to Alberta was pushed up to the same weekend. We were not told the cancellation time for the reservation was 45... more

Lac des Roche is one of the most beautiful lakes in British Columbia and is ideal for anyone wanting some good fishing. We recently stayed at the Lac des Roche resort for three nights in their Chalet cabin (sleeps 10). The Chalet was passable. Comfy beds, private firepit, bare-bones kitchen, staircase that is not safe for kids. We caught a... more

We were looking for a nice and peaceful getaway, and located the website of Lac des Roches Resort in Lone Butte, B.C. We fell in love with the beautiful wilderness pictures, well written description of facilities, and sounds of chirping birds in the background (can be heard while viewing their website). I phoned the owner (or manager, he was never... more

be aware.... the photos you see on their website do not portray the resort properly. in fact you will be quite surprised wen you arrive. if you have a rv or fifth wheel it will not fit in the campsites. we were upgraded to the "deluxe" cabin because we were lied to about the 2 bdrm suite. it was not... more
