this very beautiful setting was a delight to come upon. We were warmly welcomed and given a beautiful room with a separate living room. However, I was assured that I would be able to make plans once I arrived for local cooking class, vineyard lunch and especially a driver and that was not the case. Not having a car at... More

My wife and I had been to this lovely hotel about 4-5 years ago before we had kids and it had stuck in our minds as a place we would visit again, even after only a weekend visit. It is a sprawling collection of old but very well maintained buildings housing rooms, breakfast area, reception, as well as an excellent... More

This is a stunning hotel based on a former abbey, with beautifully maintained grounds and charming rooms. The Tuscan countryside provides a worthy setting for this jewel, providing stunning vistas all around its hillside location. In addition to the grounds there is a beautiful "orangerie" building where guests can go to enjoy a bottle of wine while browsing the books... More

In the fall we were able to sample grapes, figs, pomegranate, dates and apples right off the trees. Beautiful setting. I would give this place all 5's if there was more attention to detail. Pool had been neglected and water was green, our hot water only worked at low flow and became cold at high flow. We had a wonderful... More

Lovely inn but the shining star is the restaurant with a menu to die for that takes best advantage of fresh local ingredients and creates marvels! Not cheap but worth it in spades. They have the fab custome of offering free prossecco, pre appetizer appetizers and pre dessert desserts! Mmmm! Great stay! A good base if you are traveling around... More

The most romantic beautiful, storybook setting... It is a little hard to find but that is part of what makes it so special. It is definitely a bucket list destination. My husband and I enjoyed our fifth anniversary in Italy and this was one of our stops. Definitely take the time to go explore the small village of Castiglione de... More

The hotel is set in a beautiful, remote are of Tuscany. The grounds are outstanding and the rooms themselves were rustic and quaint. I have read that a lot of people thought the rooms were dark and dull...I think they are rustic as our room had large wooden beams across the roof-I thought this added character to the room. It... This hotel was just lovely. The renovated monastery keeps it old world charm while having all the modern conveniences. The room we had was large and beautiful and interesting. We had a little patio out back with a table overlooking the farmland in the distance and a beautiful sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful... More

Fantastic, beautiful hotel with gorgeous, tasteful rooms and fabulous orangery. Set in the Tuscan hills, this place has a real get away from it all feel. We used it as a stop off between Florence and Rome, having 4 nights there. The staff were friendly and helpful and the on site restaurant was very good, we ate there on two... More

When we pulled up the bouquet of the tremendous amount of flowers embraced us and immediately brought about a calming that stayed with us until after we left. This place was our favorite stay on a multi-week Italian trip. Meticulously maintained and a tremendous level of service keep this place on another level that is usually reserved for places out...
