We recently took a group of 25 to Il Grande prato for a week long residential wellbeing retreat. The setting was spectacular and honestly we all felt like we just stepped into an Italian film set. Nestled in a grove of olive trees and dotted with pomegranates we were attended to by Giulie and her lovely staff as though we were family. The accommodation was very comfortable and the 150 sqm meeting room with yoga space was a perfect setting for deep personal work. The meals were amazing.. and every particular dietary preference accommodated. We even had individual pizzas baked in their outdoor brick pizza oven. There are plenty of walks available and outdoor space for retreatants to wander about. I highly recommend Il Grande prato!

My daughter just had the most beautiful toscan dream wedding at Il Grande Prato. This is the fairytale wedding that a girl could ever dream of.
Our host Giulia is warm and beautiful. She has made every possible way to accommodate all of her guests to feel welcome and comfortable in this extreme hot summer of Tuscany. Some of the rooms might not have air conditioning, but the structure of the thick bricks wall gave good insulation from the heat, fans are totally sufficient!
The breakfast is delicious and sumptuous which provides you the best jumpstart of the day.
Giulia shared her inspiring story of how she and her family have spent more than 30 years on this life time project to build Il grande Prato from a complete ruins till now and hand planted 500 trees for the shades. It’s their passion, love of the people and nature make this venue magical .
Without Giulia and Il Grande Prato, my daughter wouldn’t have her dream wedding come true.

The location enabled us to do day trips and discover Tuscany. We had a wonderful stay at Il Grande Prato. The property has many facilities including a pool and numerous sitting areas to admire the soft Tuscan hills. Good food, clean rooms and a very welcoming host Giulia and her friendly staff.

I just got married in this wonderful and beautiful place. The wedding could not have been more lovely; It felt like a dream. You can see that the place has been built with a lot of love and care. The food that was prepared by the Grande Prato's kitchen was delicious and the service was excellent. Giulia and her assistant Taisia were extremely helpful with arranging every detail in order to make this event so memorable. The view of the tuscan landscape was breathtaking. It was the definition of idyllic.
The facilites - beautiful pool with landscape, tennis court, gym, ping pong etc. were amazing. Every day, we had delicious breakfast. This occasion was the perfect way to reunite our families, and the venue could not have been more appropriate for it.
We really enjoyed our stay and planning our wedding here. We plan to come back for our anniversary to enjoy this gem and relive these great memories again.

We organised a Christmas party in 30 people at the Grande Prato. We had a typical Tuscany dinner in the dining hall, everything was very delicious. We all stayed the night organized in the rooms. It's a really lovely place, the staff is really kind and helpful.
Definitely recommend.

Giulia and her family helped arrange the most beautiful dream wedding for my sister.
You can see the love and attention in every corner of the grounds.
The accommodations are full of charm and character. We stayed in the gypsy caravan, which was obviously built with care and craft. It smells like you are living in a lovely sauna… but there is air conditioning! (Be warned, if is hot in the summer as is all of Italy)
Giulia’s daughter has an additional restaurant down the road with picturesque views and where we ate the best rabbit we have ever had.
If you are looking for warm, authentic Italian hospitality in a hidden gem full of magical charm, this is it.

Guilia and her team made my wedding incredibly special. The food was incredible. The service was fantastic. And Il Grande Prato is such a beautiful place. Rustic and charming with an incredible view of the valley. I couldn’t have asked for a better venue to host our wedding. Thank you Il Grande Prato for making my wedding a unforgettable moment.

We have been staying at Grande Prato many times, during Summer and Spring, with family and once even for a business seminar, and we have never been disappointed. The place is fantastic, with a warmth and taste that were clearly hardwon by the owners, Giulia and Vito. Both originally from Milan, they decided 15 years ago to try and live differently (better) and started this place. And boy, have they succeeded! If you're looking for the quintessential Tuscan experience, great atmosphere, perfect views and wonderful food, look no further. Prices are affordable too, so you will be hard pressed to find something to spoil the experience.

If you are looking for a beautiful, intimate, Tuscan wedding experience right out of a story book, Giulia and her team at Il Grande Prato is exactly what you are looking for. Our friends and family said our wedding was the most beautiful they have ever attended and I agree. Il Grande Prato exceeded our expectations. We rented the entire venue for 30 members of our family/friends. They can sleep more. It isn’t a 5-star hotel but it is a 5-star Italian Tuscan experience. They were clean and looked like postcard perfect Tuscan villa rooms. And it was so nice to have everyone together in the same location for a few days. We only stayed 3 days but I would recommend more if you have time. There are plenty of touring opportunities in the area.
A wedding in Italy takes a lot of planning and Giulia isn’t a wedding planner per se, but she has done this enough that she knows exactly what is needed for a wedding and will provide you suggestions of people for music, flowers, cake, photographer, bus company, church, whatever you need. Keep it simple, the setting overlooking vineyards and olive trees will provide the experience more than any vendor.
Giulia, Azzurra and I communicated through email and Skype and that worked out perfectly, especially with the time zone difference. We met in person just a few days before the event to go over everything. I had forgotten a few details and they were right on it with suggestions. Their food was delicious – in fact my sisters referred to their breakfast egg dish as “crack eggs” because it was hard to stop eating them. Everyone enjoyed wood fired pizzas Friday night. Saturday, the wedding was at 5pm on site followed by the reception and we danced and sang to our own music/IPods till 11:30pm that night. It helped that the weather was absolutely perfect. We were married the first week of October and just a suggestion, the day was warm but as soon as the sun went down it was cool. Giulia has space indoors in case of inclement weather. We can’t wait to go back and visit Giulia and her staff for an anniversary. Ciao!

On your arrival to Il Grande Prato, you will be mesmerize by the charm and warmth of the place.
You will be on a cloud, with yourself and mother nature.
Giulia will do all her possible to make all your demands come true.
If you want a meaningless 4 or 5 star hotel, this is not your choice.
This is an artistic, simple home with lots of style, character and certainly with lots of love.
