We were a little concerned at first because the receptionist seemed a little pretentious, but then we seen our suite. 3rd floor far end of the building, room #304, spectacular view with a large balcony, AC, WIFI, mini fridge, hot water and TV. We could not have been happier. First day breakfast was disorganized and overall not very good, second... More

We stayed in for a wedding event. There was no consistency on room arrangements. Somo had more furniture that others. Food served at the restaurant was reasonable for the price. This a very hard hotel to book for a reservation. Once you are in it makes you wonder what is that makes this place so special. the one exception is... More

This is a very nice place, very elegant for Bahia. Large dining room, beautiful pool area with cabana bar, all overlooking the ocean & an outside bar also in front on the street side. Rooms open to the pool deck with great views of the ocean. Service is friendly and efficient. Wonderful to sit poolside having one of their many... More

Last week my wife, three kids, and I stayed at La Piedra for 3 nights. We live in Manta, Ecuador not too far away, and we had stayed at La Piedra in the past (maybe 5 years ago). We booked a "habitación familiar" with 3 large beds. It was furnished a bit differently than we expected after looking at website... More

We made our reservations on Booking.com and were a little bit misled by the information there. However, in the end, our family room turned out to be amazing, just without the balcony and sitting area that we had understood the room would have. Although there was no balcony, the entire length of the very large, bright room was windows looking... More

Booked a night then a week but ended up staying 11nights. This is a great place to relax, we were on a five week holiday and got to La Piedra and decided that this was the place we wanted to be before returning to work in the Arctic. Excellent value for cost, great staff, very accommodating and helpful and just... More

La Piedra is one of the few upscale hotels in Bahia so for those of you not looking for a backpacking hostel like experience, this is a perfect find! Nicely appointed rooms, which are large and clean. The cleaning people spent about 30 minutes every day in our room really 'cleaning' not just straightening. The staff is super helpful and... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

We spent 6 nights here, booking through Booking.com at $60+tax which is half this hotel's walk in rate. La Piedra could really do with some competition - it's currently the best of a pretty drab bunch of hotels in Bahía. We went to Bahía knowing that it remained a sleepy place untainted by the dreadful tourist sprawls along the Ecuadorian... More

Stayed here just for one night. In December of 2008. Asked the taxi driver for the best hotel in Bahia. Comfortable, clean, convenient location right on the beach. Delicious cuisine. A little expensive.

A happy land of hammocks, cleanish pool, and cold beverage staff. The weather is cloudy, but warm enough, and swells smash over the breakwater in front of the hotel. We eat dinner in the hotel restaurant, but weirdly enough are the only ones eating despite the hotel being completely full. Oh well, the whole place has the feel of Spain,... More
