On the plus side, this hotel is very central, inexpensive (we paid €73 for a balcony room, without breakfast) and it has baths - a good long soak was just what was needed after a day's cycling. However, there was a smell of mould/damp about the place, possibly resulting from the leaking flat roof over the dining room that was... More

Good location, not noisy. Rooms dated but clean, good beds and bedding. Decor tired. Nice staff. Lots of mosquitos if windows left open! No tea/coffee mking facilities. We paid 80e per night, so not bad value, would use again if on a budget.

Having booked this hotel last year we had great hopes. I should have read the French reviews as these seem more on the mark as does the last English review. It's true there are not many hotels in this area but this one is way below the three star rating it claims to be. Our room No. 34 was at... More

I'm in two minds concerning the Hotel Palmyre. There are several positive aspects of it. Firstly, it is very central to the main facilities in the town. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and it is very close to the shops and the zoo. At night it was quiet, as the hotel is set back from the main road. The... More

I spent two nights at this hotel this week. I cannot fault the friendly reception staff who made the effort to speak English when I struggle with more than basic French. I really should learn more! The room was comfortable and the pillows whilst at first glance appeared to look uncomfortable actually proved me wrong as they were very comfortable.... More

We ate in the restaurant as a couple and with the family (we did not stay in the hotel) the service was good, not all the staff speak English, the food was very reasonable, we could have as many starters and as many desserts as we wanted, excellent selection, for my main I choose a rump steak medium rare, it was... We were staying at one of the Siblu sites nearby & spotted this place on the way to the zoo. The restaurant was well decorated, the food was good quality & the price extremely reasonable. 61euro for 2 adults & 2 kids. They run a buffet menu, from which we selected the puddings!! The chocolate pots were yum. Also, the... More

There is very little choice in Palmyre in the way of hotels. This hotel however was ok. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and if you don't smoke (as we don't) the rooms lingering smell can be tough to cope with. We had a ground floor room so we could not open the doors at night. The room... More

Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff, good location, good value, bedroom adequate size, own balcony, clean. The hotel has its own restaurant and we chose to eat there as it was convenient, it was very busy inside so we chose to eat outside, it was a very warm evening. It was quite expensive and the steak was fatty and under cooked,... More
