Stayed one night on my way down the Mekong. Very basic room, small shower was a hose attached to the wall in the toilet. Bed was surprisingly comfortable - I like a hard mattress. The room was relatively clean and it was quiet. The breakfast was very basic, just some fruit and bread.

A perfectly adequate place to spend the night on your way down the Mekong - my guess is 99 per cent of visitors use Pakbeng as an overnight stop.
