The Hotel Platanista is a family owned (run on day-to-day basis by a professional hotel manager) 400 guest four star plus hotel. It is located a 20-25 minute walk from Kos Town/Port and there is a good bus service which costs only 80 cents each way. Bikes mopeds and cars are all available for rent. The hotel is quietly located... more

This was our first visit to the Hotel Platanista and it will definitely not be our last. We received a warm, cheerful, friendly welcome and this continued throughout our stay. Excellent value for families. The hotel is situated in a lovely quiet area within its own extensive grounds which are immaculately kept. There is a sandy beach nearby and Kos... more

Just returned from two weeks in Platanista, it was our first time to Greece and thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and would recommend it to everyone. The hotel is situated about 2kms out of Kos town, only a short local bus journey @ 1e. It is a fair achievable walk, a lot of people hired bikes, we took the bus most... more

The hotel is in very good condition with immaculatly kept gardens and the cleanliness of rooms and communal areas. We were pleasently surprised at the quality of the rooms as having stayed in quite a few hotel in Greece we were expecting poor quality furniture and a bathroom that belonged in the 70's even though you pay the price tag.... more

Spent 2 weeks at Platanista in August. Hotel is beautifully designed: nothing above 2 stories high. 2 large and well kept pools with good pool side areas. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. Hotle staff are friendly and welcoming. Went half board and was very impressed by the food. It was varied, fresh and consistently of a... more

An excellent hotel providing everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable holiday/visit. The hotel and gardens are beautifully designed, excellently furnished and immaculate. It is spacious but, as a guest, you are not anonymous. All the staff are friendly, courteous, provide excellent service and speak different languages. You are made welcome from the moment you step foot into the... more

This hotel is well-designed (low-rise), well-equipped, well-maintained and very well-run. It has two beautiful pools (one with a whirlpool bath in one corner) and more than enough loungers and parasols. There are also tennis courts, football and volleyball pitches, a ping-pong table, children's playground and a gym. The rooms are clean, fairly spacious and well furnished. All have balconies or... more

I stayed for one week at the Platanista with my daughter and her two children aged 10 and 7. This hotel has everything a family could want in a holiday. The location was good as it was easy to access Kos town and there were several good beachfront restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. The setting was beautiful... more
