I was there with my 14 yr old son and my mom. The problem we had was the food it is there to feed the hunger only plus the room smelled humid. As per the staff...pushy, pushy, pushy! (the performers I mean). more

My personal experience and opinions, with the pros and cons: First of all, if you do choose Oasis Canoa, make sure you request for a renovated room beforehand, or request right at the time you check in. Otherwise, you may get one of those rooms that would not be fun to stay in. You can still request them to change... more
I spent a week at Oasis Canoa as part of a group of four mid-twenties female friends. First off, to potential visitors-- if you're a single woman, or traveling with friends as I did, you will be part of a very tiny minority at this resort (I think I saw only one or two other groups of young women). Most... more
I travelled to the Oasis Canoa on 12th May with my boyfriend, having been one of the unfortunates to have our mexico holiday cancelled. It has to be said that we had an amazing time and were pleasantly surprised having read some of the hotel reviews beforehand. The rooms were clean, food was excellent... I did not see any bugs... more
So, we stayed at the Oasis Canoa from 5/23-5/28. It was amazing. We flew into the La Romana airport and was picked up by dominicanairporttransfers.com which went very smoothly and the ride to the hotel was only about 20 minutes if even that. The ride was beautiful as well! THE ROOM: Check in was smooth and easy. My first impression... more
My partner and I stayed at the Oasis Canoa April 25 - May 2. Based on reviews read on Trip Advisor, I emailed the hotel ahead of time and requested a room in one of the renovated buildings. When we arrived we were told that there would not be a room available in a "new" building until 9am the next... more
We stayed at the Oasis Canoa from the 9th to 16th of May. I had already been to the Viva Club Wydham 3stars and 4 stars as well as the Iberostar 5 stars. This was therefore my 4th time in Bayahibe, this time for my honeymoon. We really enjoyed out time there. The rooms were ok, nothing special: they were... more
The newly renovated rooms were falling apart, the sheets were not clean, the food was inedible- I found bugs in the food on two sep. meals...I literally ate toast to stay fed and I am not a picky eater...they have a group of Italian Tourists that visit and the entire resort seems geared to them, they will not take reservations... more
We just returned from Oasis Canoa on the 27th of April. I travelled with my 2 daughters and one of their boyfriends (ages 21, 20 & 17), and we had the time of our lives!! First day travelling was long as we had a stop-over in Puerto Plata for a couple of hours then off to LaRomana. From there, is... more
Arrival to La Romana Airport went smoothly, Air Transat Rep was there to greet us. Bus ride to Hotel was about 20 min. Hotel is beautiful! Everything is outdoors...gardens/ponds throughout-- everything is open concept-- birds flying in and out of restaurants, lobby..etc. Nothing is closed in except the individual rooms. Huge language barrier- staff and visitors are mostly Spanish or... more
