I agree totally with the reviewer Stephanie from July 23,2013 and would add that the food was totally amazing and abundant. Jeanne is a talented cook who takes pride in preparing what is fresh and available at the time, using herbs de Provence etc. - yet she also is able to cook Indian, Moroccon, etc. We were traveling with another... The castle and the surrounding are really great and super quiet. Diner is ok but really overpriced for what you get (35 euro when it's only worth 20). Don't expect any tasty local cuisine. Still, you may want to take it for the pleasure of having a diner in the Grande Salle à Manger of the Castle and for the... More

Dear Sir, It is with regret that your experience with dinner was disappointing (it is the first food complaint!). Since this is a B & B and not a hotel, we are obliged to follow rules in France and only have guests eating with us. We change our menu everyday and our meals are international. We do however ask if... More

The chateau itself and the surrounding area are absolutely stunning. We loved the chickens and the puppies and wandering around the property :) Jeane and her partner/staff were very friendly and open! We had dinners in-house every night which were fantastic - Jeane is a great cook of multiple cuisines and we had great conversations with everyone at the table... More

Dear Laura, Thank you for all the nice words. We have been breaking our heads thinking about what smells you confronted since no one has ever complained about it, and realize that it must have been the septic tank outside the building that is as old as the chateau itself. It must have come from the side windows, it happens... More

I cannot write highly enough about this amazing property. As other people have written, it was the highlight of both mine and my partners 10 day trip through france. Communication with Jeane was perfect throughout. The chateau itself is beautiful, set in an amazing area, only a 15 minute drive to beautiful Cluny. The rooms are amazing with beautiful artwork... We booked for a night on our way home from Umbria in Italy. Our family roon included a twin in the tower for our children aged 12 and 15. The beds were very comfortable, hot water plentiful and the shower powerful. Jeane was charming as was everyone else we met and the dinner was superb, eaten at a long table... More

We stayed in this castle a whole week! The site is terrific and peaceful. We had a beautiful room with bathroom and toilet. The castle is full of art and history. The owners are real artists. If you are looking for a quiet place and inspiration, this is the place to be. It has also free WIFI.

We decided on the way back from the Italian coast to book a two day stop over on the French countryside. This fairytale castle beat all expectations due to it's lovely setting and fantastic hosting. Firstly the view of the castle is astonishing and arriving after long trip and just sitting outside the castle sipping a local glass of bubble... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Offering bed and breakfast from the 1st April 2013, this medieval dream castle is smack in the middle of France, in south Burgundy and 20 minutes from the "Route du Soleil" going south. Full of history and charm it is the epitome of a real French experience. The French call it "The Castle of Sleeping Beauty" because of its romantic turrets and allure. Peace, authenticity and energy is what this site promises. We have rooms at the castle itself with ensuite towers and great efforts are made to respect the origin of the building and not destroy its authenticity. Also watch out for our calendar of events, exhibitions, courses, concerts and art happenings... ... more   less
