The Makedonia Hotel is adequate for an overnight stay for pilgrims to Mount Athos. We stayed two nights, and the room was clean and pleasant, with a balcony overlooking a quiet street in the town and close to the church. You can take an afternoon bus from Thesaloniki and stay in Ouranopolis before your morning boat to Mt Athos. This hotel is perfect, it remains open although there isn't much life in Ouranopolis. Popular with pilgrims. Good breakfast, nice room, pleasant and helpful manager.

This is very, very nice small hotel in the middle of Ouranoupoli. We expected it to be nice, but we liked it much more. The hygiene is on very high level, every day when you get back to your room, everything shines :) There is no luxury,of course, but you have a great seaview and sunset view. The only problem is parking... More

I stay one night at that hotel because the next day I had to visit the island Amuliani. The price was really reasonable and the room was renovated, very clean and comfortable. Really close to the center of the village (only 3 minutes walking). The owner (Mr. Stellios) was a really gentle person and give all the necessary information for... More

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night. Room was big, spacious, clean, simply furnished. It is just 2 minutes walking from the closes beach. Nice, quite street, but I think it is overpriced. I payed a price of EUR 35, without breakfast.
