This Gite is so fabulous that it's hard to know where to start! Enter the walled compound and let the gate close behind you and you are in another world The location is amazing: right on the banks of the Loire with perfect views in every direction! The Gite itself is superb: all the latest in bathroom and kitchen equipment,... More

We love this region as we often use a camp site in nearby Varennes sur Loire, but obviously in the sunnier months. Thought we'd try the region in Autumn. We new not to expect great weather so wanted somewhere comfortable to stay in. This house was ideal. The weather was nicer than expected so we managed to eat out in... More

Our second visit to this Gite more than lived up to our expectations. The setting is fabulous with unsurpassed views of the river. It is a peaceful, tranquil and relaxing location. The accommodation itself is very comfortable and spacious There are two very good resturants within 5 - 10 minutes walk plus an excellent Creperie plus some other resturants we... More

It is difficult to add to the reviews already written. Every compliment is justified. I agree with them all, so will not repeat them, but add the following as not already touched on. Read up on Joan of Arc, and the Plantagenant kings before you go then include Chinon Chateau and Fontrevaud Abbey in your itinerary ( if you have... More

We have just returned from a wonderful week spent in the excellent Gite de la Confluence. The property is beautifully furnished and well equipped and is situated in a very lovely location The owners are extremely welcoming and provided us with wine and the most delicious chocolate cake and creme anglaise. Four of us stayed here during the first week of September. Just like everyone else we thought it was wonderful. James and Danielle are welcoming hosts and provided sound information on where to go. Do go on the river trip that James can organise, don't forget the picnic to share, we had a magical evening, one of those where everything... More

We spent two weeks in August here with our 7 and 11 year old sons. We have visited the Loire many times before but this was by far the best place we have stayed, the quality of the furnishings was excellent and the views are simply stunning. Richard and Danielle are the perfect hosts always ready to help if you... More

We have just returned from a week at this beautiful gite. James and Danielle are superb hosts- welcoming, helpful and generous with their time and local knowledge (and a delicious chocolate cake and custard made by Danielle showed up one afternoon! What a lovely surprise!). They made our toddler son feel so welcome, introduced him to their chickens and even... More

When we booked this gite we thought it looked special. It exceeded our expectations and was the perfect place for a reunion with our friends from Australia. The minute you pass through the gate you relax. The location is truly stunning, right next to the river with views of the conflluence of La Loire and La Vienne. The gite is... More
