Stayed for 10 wonderful days. The hotel is very clean. Roomed cleaned everyday and clean towels every other day. The room view was very good as we looked over the pool area. The pool bar was very reasonably price for drinks. Cheapest in Afitos. All staff work very hard. Breakfast was a very good choice with eggs, bread, cereal, cakes and biscuits, cheese and meats. Location was perfect for walking out into Afitos square and beach. We stayed late September and was lovely and quite. Perfect for us. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely coming back here.

We have stayed here several times. Each time it seems perfect but by the next visit improvements have been made that make it even better. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are very good with a lot of variety. What makes the hotel special is the staff. The cleaners, the bar staff, reception staff. Everyone is helpful, polite and welcoming. The manager deserves a special mention for ensuring that everything runs so smoothly. It really couldn't be better.

Recently returned from a wonderful 2 weeks holiday at the lovely Stratos Hotel. Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion I feel I need to respond to some of the comments on previous review as I consider them unfair. THE WELCOME we received on arrival was very warm, professional and accommodating. Anastasia and Stella (and all the staff) could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our frequent chats with them. BATHROOM - the shower had non slip flooring and a towelling bathmat provided. As with a lot of bathrooms the floor is tiled so as long as you cover it before stepping out of the shower there should be no issue. The shower was great with plenty of hot water always available. BREAKFAST although as stated the breakfast was repetitive there was such an array of choice. Hot food choice of sausages and eggs/homemade pastries and pies, cereal, toast, homemade jams, cold meats/cheeses, fresh fruit yogurt and more. POOLSIDE DRINKS there was a sign by the pool and also details on information card in bedroom. When there is a poolside bar I wouldn’t dream of bringing own drinks to pool. LIBRARY - we found this an amazing addition to the hotel facilities. We have only ever stayed in hotels previously that just offer swapping books that other guests have left. There is a vast choice in numerous languages. We made full use of this facility. Afitos is a beautiful resort but it is very hilly and I feel if you have any mobility issues it wouldn’t really be the resort for you but maybe investigation before booking should have been looked in to. Our stay was wonderful even with 4 days of Storm Daniel. It is our 3rd visit to Afitos but first stay at Stratos. We were very pleased with all aspects of the hotel. It is in a fantastic location - 5 minutes walk into resort and 15 minutes to beach. Special mention to the cleaners who work tirelessly to keep hotel spotless. Bedroom was small but had everything you needed. Bed very comfortable. Towels and bedding changed almost daily. During our stay we ate out at 15 different restaurants which were all good - and still more to try! Beaches are beautiful - but difficult to get to if mobility issues. We had a fantastic holiday and will certainly be returning. Thank you Anastasia and team…

Just returned from Stratos Hotel. Disappointing Hotel after reading reviews. Bad transfers going to hotel and returning to airport, but this issue will be taken up with Jet2. The hotel is nestled between 2 steep slopes, left and right also many stairs within hotel. Upon arrival not such a great welcome. As my husband has severe arthritic knees we requested a low room, were given room 205 up a flight of stairs, but no choice given, take it or leave it was the impression. Bedroom itself nice with light furniture and very comfortable bed. As for the balcony, tiny triangular corner with uncomfortable chairs. The views were a downstairs rooftop and an outside air con system. BEWARE the bathroom. We have travelled all over the world and this has to be without a doubt the smallest, minute bathroom ever. Extremely hazardous, so so slippy floor. My husband slipped coming out the shower and I had to get the assistance of a lovely male member of staff to get him up. Luckily he was not injured just a bit sore next day. I also went over my ankle and as it was swelling up my husband went down to the bar with our own bag to get some ice. The General Manager was also there and although my husband’s Greek is zero he understood the conversation that why was he getting free ice when he hadn’t bought a drink, seriously for some ice. Breakfast OK quite repetitive, best thing cakes and biscuits. Don’t take your own drinks to pool, we were reprimanded like children although there are no signs visible prohibiting this. I did see others doing same but they were not “told off”. The only staff we must thank are the maids who work extremely hard all day to keep the hotel areas and rooms spotlessly clean. The two guys at breakfast and pool bar are polite, efficient and friendly. The management and reception were, to us at least, a little curt and short. There is a library, yes literally. You sign a book out and in so don’t start on your last day won’t be able to take home. This is bizarre, these books have been donated not bought by the hotel. The village of Afitos is beautiful. Shopkeepers friendly and helpful. Restaurants a plenty and all well priced with excellent food and service. To sum up, if you have any form of infirmity this is NOT the hotel for you. Will we be back simple answer NO.…

Dear guest, Thank you for your review and your nice words about our breakfast, our comfortable beds, our cleanliness and our boys who serve the breakfast and work at the bar! I apologize for the bad experience you had in the Stratos Hotel. You visited us during August which is the pick of the summer season. Upon your request for a low floor room, we accommodated in one of the few standard double rooms that we have on the semi floor. I’m glad to hear that you liked the bedroom and the light furniture. I’m sorry that your husband slipped on the bathroom. The shower itself has a non-slip floor. Perhaps the fact that your husband has severe arthritic knees, as you wrote, didn’t help much. As the manager of the Stratos Hotel I can assure you that what I said to my colleague from the bar was: “why don’t you bring an ICE PACK which would be better in that situation instead of just ice that would melt easily”. Maybe your husband doesn’t know English but still I’m really sorry that you actually assumed that I didn’t want to give him some ice! Pool area is served by the pool bar. It is written on the information board at the pool area and inside your room. When we saw you in the pool area with your own tins of beers, I approached you with 2 glasses and I asked very kindly if you would put the beers inside the glasses. Our library has 602 books in more than 10 different languages and yes! The hotel bought most of them! Of course there are guests that they are kind enough to leave us their books or swap them. But since all the books are registered, we kindly ask to inform us about any book they would like to borrow or swap. Vacation are precious and people should enjoy as much as possible so once more, I’m really sorry you didn’t enjoy your time with us. Yours sincerely, Anastasia Nikolaidou Manager

Perfect! A fantastic small hotel in a brilliant location. A couple of minutes walk to the lovely village of Afitos and about 10 minutes to the beach, which is a bit of steep walk on the way back up but we did it no problem in the August heat. The staff at Stratos are lovely and very helpful nothing is a problem. They booked us on a boat trip and as we had an early start they made us a pack up for breakfast which was a nice touch. The hotel is so clean as well, we can highly recommend and hope to go back!

Lovely hotel in a great location. Minutes from resort centre. Short walk to the beach - 15 mins approx. (If you go to the beach, follow the road to the RIGHT and downhill to the best beach) The hotel is well maintained, lovely and clean and tidy everywhere. The pool is very clean and very well maintained. Children's pool attached. Pool hours are 10:00 - 22:00 with quiet time 15:30 - 17:00 which is nice. Sunbeds are available around the pool. Sunbed "saving" is avidly discouraged, the management team remove towels on sunbeds before 10 that do not have owners with them, which I think is wonderful, more hotels should do this and not just say it in words on a wall. Rooms - good size, very clean and well maintained. plenty of wardrobe/cupboard space. Large bed. Fridge. Hairdryer. Tv. Bathroom - good size, well maintained. Shower a little on the small side but completely acceptable. Hot water always available. Nice little balcony area overlooking the pool area. Table and 2 chairs. Bar area nice and friendly, plenty of food and drink choice. Breakfast was plentiful and constantly being re-stocked, great choice of food. Served between 8 & 10 a.m. Pack up available if you go on an early excursion. We had a fantastic stay at Stratos Hotel and we are definitely going back next year.…

An absolutely fabulous holiday and a great hotel. From the moment you get there until the moment you leave the staff are amazing. It’s like a true family run affair with smiling faces all around. Breakfast was always fresh and the fruit jams and yogurt delicious, constantly topped up and spotlessly clean. Our room was small but perfectly formed with a very very cold fridge! The location is second to none, 5 minutes to town and all Afitos has to offer. All in all I would come back in a heartbeat.
