This parador is very pretty. Walk the corridors to the rooms you will see the typical shoes of Asturias made of wood called madrenas serving as an object of adornment. The places oozes history and the rooms reflect this fact. The walk to the main building through a corridor covered with glass is a really good idea from the architects.... More

What an excellent find. The old part has so much history and the ambience is superb with so much attention to detail. The old renovation work that has been done over the years is of the highest quality. Whilst staying over Xmas there was a lovely feeling within the building and it displayed some amazing antiques. A choral concert in... More

This Parador is perhaps the best I have visited. It’s totally wonderful, situated close to the nature and close to interesting places to visit. Cangas de Onís is the name of a small village, but to go there you need a car. Everything is perfect. A beautiful building, nice staff, tasty food, free parking, well working Internet. And I have... The Parador was a 12th century monastery originally, though with lots of changes and much of what is left is 18th century. Archaeological digs have revealed much of the early plan and building foundations, displayed in some corners. The old building is lovely, with its attached small church and courtyard in the cloister, and the new block fits in well.... More

This is a Parador of two halves but both are good. The first is the old historic building, including a lovely chapel, built around a courtyard. This also contains the reception, bar and function rooms. There is a real sense of history here and this is what the Paradors do so well. The second is a modern wing containing bedrooms... More

We stopped off with other members of our car club for lunch. There is plenty of parking. We had the choice of enjoying a lunch seated outside or inside. It oozes in history and ideally situated to explore the area.

It is in the middle of nowhere. The historic building is very nice, even if the rooms are located in a new building. Staff is friendly. The weak point is the restaurant that is not good at all for dinner and even for breakfast I have to complain about some juice that was rotten. Very little help with the luggage.

The Parador is housed in a beautiful historic building, conveniently situated for trips into the Picos de Europa, though the setting was less rural than photos on the internet suggest. It is surprisingly close to a busy road, so the location is handy but not as quiet as we expected. Arriving from the Parador de Limpias where our superior room... More

We stayed here three nights using it as a base to hike. Our daughter was in one of the newer rooms, she had a small balcony in her room. Her room was very bright. I noticed the room on the other side in that building only had a window. We paid a little more to be in the historic side.... More

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel and the staff is very friendly and kind. We stayed for four nights in a room in the main building. The room was huge and very nicely decorated. It was like sleeping in a museum. This was our first stay at a Parador and I was so impressed by the experience. It was fun... More
