I loved La Balsa- we stayed for two nights in July and it was just what I was looking for. A great bed and breakfast vibe (mostly couples and some small families), and really nice owners. We didn't come with a car and everything still turned out great. There are buses/taxis/and if you like walking then that's also a definite... More

The host couple is great, really friendly and very serviceminded! We stayed in a lovely room with windows facing the road. The rooms didn't have aircon, så we needed to sleep with the windows open, which again meant that we couldn´t sleep because of the traffic noise. The breakfast is good, the juice and jams homemade and the wifi free.... More

Stayed here for one night when on a tour of Asturias. Despite being on the busy road to Covadonga this hotel was peaceful and quiet at night and we had a great sleep after a long day visiting the hills and lakes in the area. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. I would certainly return to La Balsa... More

Located 4 kms. outside of Cangas de Onis, in a small village near the junction of the road to Covadonga, this is a family-run hotel in a stone building with two upper floors and a deceptive number of good sized rooms with fans to aid ventilation. Breakfast is taken in a delightfully furnished dining room and includes home made cake,... More

We received a warm friendly welcome from both host and his dad. Rooms are comfortable, this is a hotel with a great deal of character. Delicious breakfast, v fresh bizcocho, scrambled eggs and embutidos.

I have stayed twice and this hotel is a real gem! The facilities are beautiful, and the couple who run it are terrific. They help you in orienting you to do what you want to do. Breakfast is great and if you have a dietary requirement, they will adjust. There is parking for 5 cars by the front door of... More

This is a stone, 14 room, two story hotel run by very helpful, pleasant personnel. There is a lot of attention to detail throughout the hotel and thus, very clean. As others have noted, there are only three parking spots directly in front of the hotel, with ample additional parking available a very short walk away on the other side... More

We loved this hotel. So petite and quaint. The young couple who run it are very friendly and obliging. I loved the decor. Breakfast was so inviting with all home cooking. We were able to park outside the hotel but I believe you can also park at a restaurant over the road if there are not any available places. Shall... More
