It's just superbly designed in a stunning setting in a tea plantation. I was amazed. The individual rooms are spacious and luxurious with a huge bathroom, and bath, excellent desk/ wifi TV area and generous seating options inside and on your own terrace. An outside heated pool. Their are several enormous open lounging areas in the main building, all have... More

I stayed at the Nyungwe forest for two nights with my wife for a romantic escapade while living in Kigali. The place is very much worth the 4 hours of road trip from the capital (now it is only 3.5 hours, the improved the road through the forest). I cannot say anything that hasn't already been said about the place.... More

Amazing place, in a peaceful atmosphere with an extremely graciously sweet staff and high quality food. There is no single word to describe this lodge....Some people look for heaven..others make one on earth..i've found mine there.. :) Thanks much to M. Were and his whole team, we enjoy our stay. C'était MIRIFIQUE..

I stayed at the lodge 3 nights in August and am eager to return. The staff are warm and eager to help in any way, offering personalized service. The rooms are sublime, as is the location. The food was excellent and my special requests were easily fulfilled. There is so much to see and do in the area; I did... More

After two years of living in Rwanda and staying at more than a dozen lodges, I can say without doubt that this is Rwanda's premier lodge. Its design is uncanny: located within a working tea plantation, the massive main house (featuring dining rooms and a huge lounge) and its rooms are set against the beautiful, untouched Nyungwe Forest. The food... More

This is a beautiful lodge. The staff (of whom there seem to be a large number) are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The lodge itself is stunning. Beautifully sited and constructed. The overwhelming feeling is serene. Our room had every possible amenity. The food was good and well presented. Three courses were provided at both lunch and dinner. We wished we... More

We recently stayed in this heavenly spa and resort in Gafunzo. The resort is located in the middle of a tea plantation. Apparently the owner of the property encourages the local villagers to harvest as much tea as they would like, then sell it and keep the profits. He funds this endeavor from the proceeds from the hotel. The architecture... More

I had a tummy upset on the second day, all food having come from the lodge. So attention needed in the kitchen. Other than that, the lodge was excellent, with very nice rooms, a lovely location, and also well managed and good staff. There are of course the attractions in the Nyunge Forest, including the chimps, but the lodge is... More

Paradise in between a tea plantation and a conserved forest. Location Situated on the edge of the tea plantation on one end, and facing the forest on the other. You couldn't find a resort more beautiful than this. 10-15 minute drive to the main set off point for the forest trails, canopy walk, etc. Right next door to the parks... More

This lodge rewards you for every dollar you pay. The architecture of the lodge ( both main building and rooms) and the decorations are in full harmony with a beautiful surrounding. Rooms face a rain forest which is few meters from your balcony. It is nice to walk through tea plantation and enjoy birds singing. It is a place for... More
