The island has great potential but falls way short of being a decent tourist resort. The beach was dirty (plastic bottles etc), the room was poor (dirty carpets) and the staff were not very as friendly as you expect them to be in a beach resort. It almost seems like they are being forced to stay on the island beyond... more

Cannot figure out where the negitive reviews are coming from. This was our second time staying at the resort and although we booked for 2 weeks,we ended up staying for 3 we loved it so much. Went with 3 teenagers (19,16,13) and they all had a ball, even my 19 year old daughter who would rather be out with friends than... more

We stayed here ourselves in February 2003 and had a great time, recommended it to my brother for his honeymoon in Sep 2007and they throughly enjoyed it too. This is an expensive resort but well worth the price. The transfer from Brisbane by catamaran to Moreton island was nice and we were instantly captivated on arrival by the beautiful beach,... more

Went with family consisting of 4 adults and 3 young children. Two rooms in the same complex. Reception. Seemed fairly efficient when no boats coming in!! When they arrive and the staff are trying to deal with 100 people checking in it can be a bit chaotic. Checking out was fine, except the computors were down and everything had to... more

The service was poor and the staff were unfriendly, two staff were even arguing in the coffee shop infront of tourists. I failed to see any of them be friendly in fact they were down right rude. The prices for everything was so unbelievable we actually left the island early to stay in Brisbane as it was cheaper than continuing... more

The only way that this place can achieve anything higher that 3 stars is from people who read the very bad tripadvisor reveiews and are not expecting much. They are then pleasantly surprised to find out that it isn't that bad and give it a higher rating than it deserves. I am was not expecting much either, but the truth... more

Stayed at Deep Blue Apartments - absolutely fantastic! Got good deal on apartment ($1086 all in: 6 people for 3 days/2 nights including transfers and bedding/towel packs, etc.) Deep Blue is situated right opposite the jetty where the dolphins come in to be fed and although privately owned are still classified as part of the resort so dolphin feeding included.... more

After reading the reviews on this site I warned the family that it was not going to be 5 star. Fantastic Island. Food is way overpriced and terrible that is for sure. Take your own food if you can. They have BBQ's in the resort. We stayed in the Kookaburra section the room was actually nice, big and had ocean... more

We have just returned from the island and I am trying very hard to get the bitter taste out of my mouth! I could rant and rave for pages but I won't I will just try to summarize. Resturants: WAY over priced, tasteless boring food, Im sure they would even charge you for the flys buzzing around the buffet food... more

In hindsight, it only makes sense that after they gouge you on the cost of transporting you to the resort itself by way of their own boat, they'd continue to stick it to you once you arrive. After all, you're on an island. You have no choice but to pay their over-inflated prices. Nothing comes complimentary at Tangalooma. If you... more
