Most things about this hotel are OK. The location is good, the refurbished areas are really nice(especially the chill out terrace), the pool area is lovely and we had no problem with finding sun beds. The food is OK - typical hotel style buffet but good quality. The only thing that really let's it down is the attitude of the... More

We have just returned from a one week break at this hotel. We have stayed here twice before and were worried that the refurbishment might change the character of the place but it hasn't in fact it has enhanced the hotel and its facilities. Although the public areas have been done many of the rooms have not, they are still... More

JUST BACK FROM A GOOD RELAXING BREAK 10 DAYS IN TENERIFE. BUT THANKFULLY NOT AT THIS HOTEL. Given key to room, made our own way to it and could not believe what it was like. wooden look floor, not even laminate, was covered in dirty footprints. Drawers lined with greaseproof paper and filthy with crumbs in them. Bathroom fittings were... More

We stayed 7 days half board, which we booked direct on the H10 website. Good points The communal areas. Just refurbished, all extremely modern with clean lines. Best bits were the 5 star style outdoor terrace with the white outdoor beds and sofas (photos all over the website). Also loved the terrace where you could eat breakfast / dinner overlooking... Hotel located in a nice area with plenty of shops and bars but not overly lively. Not sure it warrants four stars, but good value for money via Portland Holidays. Rooms are done out nicely and staff are pleasant but reception staff not too hot when it comes to speaking English! The major downside is the loud music from a... More

I've stayed in Playa de las Americas once before in the Bitacora which gets rave reviews on this site. I'd rate this hotel just as good, and in parts better, apart from the location. Although the Gran Tinerfe is situated on the beach, its an older, quieter, slightly run down area. On the upside our room was excellent...a superior room... More

We spent a pleasant week in this hotel just before Christmas. We stayed there in 2003 and we were surprised to see the hotel has been totally updated in terms of the decor. We did prefer it in its original furnishings and decor as it had a definite air of a four star hotel but although it is bright and... More

On are arrival a couple were at reception complaining they had paid for sea view and had not got it, as we requested and paid for the same we double checked before picking up our key which we told yes. When we arrived at our rooms they were overlooking the pool, a trip back down to reception we were told... More

The massive glass doors swooshed aside and I walked into a vast white space. White marble on the floor, on the walls and the ceiling. If I hadn’t had known better I’d have thought I’d walked into an art gallery. And not any art gallery, more the type you see in the movies or in a glossy magazine. I was... More
